There is nothing more natural than to have friends. Most people have so many friends they can't count them all on their hands and feet. Friends are an important way for people to handle difficult situations because friends stand as a backbone. Friends are also able to provide love and support. With people having so many friends, it is believed to be hard to distinguish between the different types of friends but that is not the case. Many people identify best friends, acquaintances, social partners, and mutual friends without even realizing it. Friendship is a difficult subject to define including the way every group interacts differently. Friendship means different things to different people. A friend is one (who/m) is attached to another by affection or even esteem. Friends are people who have a tendency to be relaxed, open, and have equality. There has to be some sort of bond holding friends together by positive feelings and history. All different groups of friends are important to have and each one will have a special meaning in different ways.

provide predictions about what their friend will do before they even think about it. Best friends are normally found in the same group of friends, can feed off one another's personality trait, and even finish each other sentences. When the best friend of someone is gone on a trip or something else to do, the one friend starts to feel incomplete and start to make plans for when they will meet again. Best friends are those who will stick with a friend through the paths of first boyfriends, going through freshman year of high school together, and clap for them when no one else will. An acquaintance can remain on a personal level, business contact for someone, or even become a friend later on. This factor all depends on the relationship and the people who are involved. At some times, different acquaintances seen over and over again throughout someone's life still will know nothing but their names. However, the acquaintances someone does not know generally well, are still important. These acquaintances will provide the opportunity to connect potential friendships. This group includes people who one talks to out of awkward obligations. While being observed in their natural habitats such as multiple classrooms, bus seats, and the general public, acquaintances are generally random encounters. People may pursue to talk to an acquaintance due to necessity, loneliness, or even boredom. For example, a person standing alone at a bus station with nothing to do noticing a person reading a magazine, they decide to make a conversation about that magazine. This is not done in order to annoy or interrupt the other person. Most people do this as a tool to make someone feel less alone. This selection of friends do not evolve past random encounters or conversations. Many acquaintances will include those of people who one will exploit for their own personal gains. A social partner is one someone who will often be met at a social occasion or one who may accompany them to social gatherings but is someone without a personal relationship.
This is because they are considered closer than an acquaintance but afar nowhere near those of best friends. Social partners are those who generally begin as acquaintances and evolve into "guest friends" through an extracurricular activity. This shows people will know the names of social partners, slight knowledge of likes and dislikes, and several things they have in common. The truth about social partners is, no one is going to want to be spending any extra time with them than necessary due to factors such as those being completely opposite and aggravating to
them. Mutual friends are common amongst groups such as those who are popular. When having at least a group of five to ten people, it is almost guaranteed someone will be considered a mutual friend. Mutual friends represent those who have more than one friend in common. Facebook, for example, will suggest adding someone when there are people friends with other people on friend lists. The people appear in these areas because they are set to be recommended as friends as Facebook believes there has to acknowledgment of them. Mutual friends could almost be considered an acquaintance. The truth seems to be, having a mutual friend does not mean they will support one another but rather go to parties and such and see someone there. A typical conversation with these people is commonly a hello and a goodbye. These people may also seem really happy to see you one minute but the next time, almost dreadful. Normally mutual friends like to be around someone when their other friends are involved in activities, gatherings, or etcetera. Sometimes there is common likings and dislikings which is able to bring process to friendships. The difference between a mutual friend and an acquaintance is that mutual friends have the greater chances of reaching friendships because many people like to know them better as their friends get to know them too. Having friends is a natural thing to do. In many times, people could count on their hands and feet but it still would not be enough to count all the friends they have. Friends are the backbone to many people and have a substantial importance for friends to handle difficult situations while also giving love and support. At times, it may be hard to distinguish the different types of friends but that is not the case. Many people will identify people with the terms of best friends, acquaintances, social partners, and mutual friends before even realizing they do so. Friendships are able to be a difficult subject to define such as including the way each group will interact differently. Friendships are going to mean different things to different people. Sometimes someone may use the example that a friend is one (who/m) is attached to another by affection or even esteem but others may justify it differently such as, friends are people who have a tendency to feel relaxed, open, and have equality. There has to be some sort of bond holding friends together by a positive feeling and history. The truth is, all different groups of friends are important to have and each one will have a special meaning in many different ways.
By definition a friend is a person who provides assistance and support. We have different groups of friends for different purposes in our lives. Although there are many different categories of friends, Marion Winik author of “What are Friends For?” mentions that some of the more common groups consist of the faraway, work, family, and former friends (132). We keep our friends because we value their loyalty, communication, support, and dependability.
A friendship is a bond shared with another person, typically of common interests. A friend is honest, loyal, faithful, and trustworthy. It's someone you can share secrets, memories, fears, and dreams with. They stand by you despite arguments or disputes that might arise. Friendships can bring joy, as well as pain; friends want the best for each other, and sometimes sacrifices must be made. In Of Mice and Men, John Steinbeck speaks of the advantages and pitfalls to a friendship.
I would define friendship as complete trust and love between two people. Many people believe that this kind of behavior is reciprocated between two individuals without any expectations. A friend is someone who also provides you with support and whom you can rely on to celebrate special moments with. A friend also comes with many great attributes; such as loyalty, honesty, compassion, trust, and morality. Today’s friend is viewed as someone who shares happiness, common values, history, and equality with another. For example, Aristotle and Cicero both wrote dialogues about friendship and its significance on mankind. Therefore, the key issues that will be discussed are: their views on the similarities of friendship, the differences between friends,
There are a lot of synonyms for the word best friend. Some of the many include soulmate, companion, ride-or-die, sister/brother, husband/wife, and that does not even begin to cover it. The term is so broad with a vague definition, but has a strong meaning to almost everyone. Most people that are asked have someone they consider to be their best friend in some form, either a friend or a spouse. Often times these two people have gone through so much with each other, the good and the bad. These people are so important to everyday life because they help to reach important needs, they help people to discover themselves, and they help to maintain healthy aging.
Friendship is an interpersonal relationship between two people that is mutually productive and can be characterized by mutual positive regard. Friendship should enhance the potential of each person involved and should only be productive. You must like each other in order to call it a friendship, and
There are many valuable things in life like family, sports, school but what about friendship? To live life without friendship is something no one should ever go through. Friendship is a necessity to living a successful life. Friendship occurs when someone is a supporter, gives assistance, and is attached to someone all the while genuinely taking care of them when they are hurt (The definition of friend, 1995-2002). A good and healthy friendship can be defined fro individuals as when someone has his or her own support system, a friend being loyal, and will always have genuine and mutual trust.
Friendship is the most wonderful relationship that anyone can have. Ideally a friend is a person who offers love and respect and will never leave or betray us. Friends can tell harsh truths when they must be told. There are four different types of friends: True friends, Convenient friends, Special interest friends, and historical friends. To have friendship is to have comfort. In times of crisis and depression, a friend is there to calm us and to help lift up our spirits.
It is said that friendship is a single soul dwelling in two bodies. Well, everybody must have friends don’t they? One is in great affliction if one thinks that one can live by his own. Most of us medical students are studying abroad or quite far from our family. Some of us even went as far as crossing continents and studying in Europe or the Middle East. One cannot help to stop and pause to argue that the next closest to us after our family would be our friends. Friends or some call it as pal, buddy, comrade and mate are literally defined as those who are close to us, share the same likings as us and willing to accept us for who we are.
The second category of friends I call "social partners." This is because they are closer than acquaintances, but no where near as close as a true friend. Social partners are usually acquaintances who evolve into "guest friends" through increased extracurricular activities. You know their name, a little of what they like or dislike, a little of their family history, and usually have several things in common. As the saying
Everyone needs a best friend in her lifetime. She needs somebody that she can trust and go to with her problems. A best friend should be there for you all the time, no matter what the situation may be. In my case, I have known my best friend for my entire life. My best friend happens to be my younger sister, Brittany. She is only thirteen months younger than I am, so we are very close. Having Brittany as my best friend has made me into the person I am today. She has taught me how to trust people, how to resolve my problems, and how to open up and express my feelings.
Friendship is a relationship that all the individuals can create by themselves. Though it is not a god gifted relationship like that of the relationship of a mother, father, sister, brother or any of the other family but still it is one of the best relations an individual can possess. People who have true friends consider themselves as the luckiest individuals on earth.
There is no real definition of friendship, because there’s no one way you can define it. Friendships can mean many different things, depending on the person. Friendship to you may be your boyfriend or your mom. To someone else it may be their cousin or someone they met on at school. It can take you a long time to consider someone your friend. Maybe you have to get to know them before you become their friend. Some people have had very bad experiences with friendships and may be scared to become friends with someone to fast. So it may take some time for some people to make friends. Maybe you can become friends with someone a couple of day after ya’ll meet. You may be one of the people who have never had any problems with friends, so you trust people more. Are maybe your someone who’s scared of being alone so you need friends there to help you cope with your fear.
A friend is someone difficult to find. A friend is someone you can always count on when times are tough. The dictionary's definition of a good friend is a person attached to another by feelings of affection or personal regard. A good friend is there when you are struggling. For example, when a boy breaks your heart a good friend walks you through it and offers a shoulder to cry on. According to Bree Neff, a good friend is someone who is trustworthy, doesn't talk behind your back, listens to your problems, gives good advice and tries to lend humor along with his or her support. There are also bad friends, those who pretend to care and then turn around gossiping and starting drama. Good and bad friends are all around you, involved in your everyday life. To find good friends you should look for such traits as being kind, trustworthy, loyal and dependable.
A best friend does not back away from you when you think you’ve lost it. Those are the times that a best friend is always there for. A best friend is someone with whom you’ve shared your most intimate secrets with, and laughed the loudest. She probably knows you better than anyone you can think of, definitely better than your parents, and sometimes better than you know yourself. She has seen you at your worst, and helped you be your best. A best friend is not afraid to tell you the truth. A lot of research has been done looking into the benefits of friendship, and the research has found exactly what you might expect.
