Starting into the disaster and chaos in Italy stepped in the fierce, nationalist leader named Benito Mussolini. Mussolini put together his supporters into “combat squads” called the Black Shirts. These Black Shirts rejected the democratic processes in favor of violent actions. The Black Shirts or fascist gangs used fear and intimidation to basically force out the elected officials in the northern part of Italy. Many Italian citizens didn’t really care for these acts because they too have pretty much given up on the constitutional government. By 1925, Mussolini had already gained more power and have been given the name Il Duce or “The Leader”. To motivate the growth of the economy and end the problems with the owners and workers, Mussolini
brought the economy under the state’s control, but at the same time, still maintained capitalism. In his new system of favoring the upper class and industrial leaders, he replaced the individual goals of the people to the loyalty to the state. To the fascists, the state was all to the important, and the people were unimportant unless they were a member of the state. All people: men; women; and children were striked with little slogans and sayings praising Mussolini and the state. “Believe! Obey! Fight!” They announced. Shaping children and young people into fascist ideas was a major goal. They were taught to obey harsh military discipline in youth groups and school. The appeal of fascism was that it was first promised a strong and stable government to end all the political feuding that had basically froze democracy ruling in Italy. Mussolini showed that even at a time of disorder and despair, that he had much power and confidence. As the Great Depression was spreading, other nations started looking for fascist leaders. One major person to ever follow Mussolini’s steps was Adolf Hitler in Nazi Germany.
The positive effects of Benito Mussolini’s reign in Italy benefitted the country greatly. By putting Cesare Mori in charge of eliminating the mafia, he caused 11,000 of Italy’s criminals to be arrested, which caused the country’s crime rates to plummet. The nearly absolute end of the mafia brought peace and order to Italy, which the country’s citizens desperately needed. He also defended his country’s interests by going against the allies for not giving Italy the land that was promised to them if they joined them in the first world war. Mussolini also upgraded infrastructure in Italy and improved the Italian economy.

Multiple historians have touched on the change in government during Fascist Italy’s reign in World War II. In Italian Fascism: Its Origins and Development, Alexander De Grand clarifies the many promises Benito Mussolini fabricated for the Italian people in order to get them to join his cause such as the improvement on poverty with the rise of a new Roman Empire. De Grand also gives an opposite view, with some citizens seeing Fascism as a “model of efficiency.” In Melton S. Davis’ Who Defends Rome?, t...
He aimed to be the ruler of a one party totalitarian state. In the 1920's, he destroyed all effective opposition at home. He placed loyal Black Shirts in key government positions, created the Voluntary Fascist Militia for National Security, and promoted the Grand Council of Fascism into a part of the state. In July 1923, Mussolini was able to secure a new electoral law from the parliament. In an atmosphere of intimidation and violence, with the Fascist Militia using strong arm methods, the 'National List' presented by the Fascists.

militaristic government" (Webster's). March 23, 1919 marked the ascension of the Fascist party in Italy. For many, young Benito Mussolini was a symbol of law and order in a time of political and social turmoil. Mussolini's "Fasci di Combattimento", the re-organization of his Fascia group, was accepted and admired by all, especially those Italians longing for the end of unemployment, inflation, and the fear of a communist revolution. In Italy, many members of the government, as well as a few aspects of society, gained from Fascism. However, despite those who gained, more Italians suffered as a result of Fascist government.
In 1922, Benito Mussolini held leadership in Italy, promising a proficient and militaristic nationalistic state. During his control as prime minister, he gained a large group of followers, banned the disparagement of government, and used extreme violence against his enemies within the parliament. According to Oppenheimer, Adolf Hitler idolized Mussolini’s rise and respected his tactics to gain power. Hitler was a violent leader who brought For example, “corporatism” largely contributed to later policies that we still practice today.
When Benito wrote some ignorant and cruel suggestions and ideas in the newspaper. So the he was fired. He then decided to created his own newspaper. He called it, "Li Popolo d’ Italia" (The People of Italy). He hoped the war between Italy and Turkey might lead to collapse of society that might bring him to power.
Benito Mussolini’s major problem was that he was twisted in the mind. Mussolini really thought he could change Italy by using violence, which was wrong thinking. I do not personally think it is all Mussolini’s fault because it was the way he grew up. Do not get me wrong he was raised in a household were abuse was going on but his father did not show him any type of affection. I believe that if Benito’s father would have showed him love and told him be a wise person he would have been better off in my opinion. However, since that did not happen Benito had to put this façade on for the public to mask his insecurities, and his darkest thoughts. I think that Benito would have been able to fix this if he would have had good men friends to teach him the ways of being a powerful figure without beating people over the head to make his point.
Benito Mussolini decided to get Italy involved in World War II. This decision had a negative impact on Italy. After World War I, the Italian people were angry that Italy did not get more land from the peace settlement. Getting Italy involved in World War II was not necessary. Getting involved in this war could have easily been avoided, but Mussolini decided to help and tries to give Italians what they wanted. What the Italians hoped to gain from World War I was never received. The gaining of land for Italy seemed as if it was a necessity to Mussolini. To gain more land, Mussolini led Italy into World War II. Things did not work out as expected for Mussolini. Thinking he had everything under control and that everything would go his way, things backfired and many men were lost during World War II. He also made Italy mar...
After World War I, there were two men that rose up to control their government in their countries. One was Adolf Hitler who was put in charge of the German government, and the other was Benito Mussolini who was put in charge of the Italian government. Adolf Hitler was born in 1889, and according to the lecture was known as a failure for not finishing high school, or becoming an accomplished artist. Mussolini was born in 1883, and was unknown until he came home a wounded soldier from the war. Mussolini would rise up and form the Fascist government focusing on being loyal to the state, and Hitler would rise up and control the Socialist German Workers Party, the Nazis.
There is no doubt that Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini shared many similar characteristics. They shared movements that were typical of National Socialism: they adopted a radical nationalism, militaristic hierarchies, violence, the cult of charismatic leadership, contempt for individual liberties and civil rights, an anti-democratic and anti-socialist orientation, and a refusal to socialize industries.
For a country to be 'great' it has to have a strong economy, a stable

The life in which Benito Mussolini lived was different from those who were more behaved and mannered like polite young men were supposed to be. He as well changed the way life would be lived for the people who resided in Italy, as he brought Fascism to their each and everyone of their lives, under his command. Mussolini eventually became a leader in whom some people soon to aspire and follow his footsteps, some more evil than others.
