In the movie Bend It like Beckham there are a lot of factors showing the environment shapes who we are and who were meant to be. These influence our character’s actions and behaviours towards each other and their families. Although there are many scenes showing the environment shaping jess and Jules there are still numerous scenes where jess and Jules are truly themselves. In scene two of the analysis, we can see how the environment jess lives in has ultimately changed who she is. This is portrayed through a variety of techniques and effects including sound ,dialogue, and positioning. Sound plays a very important role in any movie since it captures one whole sense. This allows the audience to feel the atmosphere as the actor shows his or her emotions. Sentence’s like “I want to put my family first” or “look how happy they are“ shows that jess has truly given up on what she loves most. This makes jess look miserable and makes the audience feel sorry for what jess has become, But during the end of the scene, we can still see that there is still a drop of hope , at what point tony swoops in and takes jess to tell her she can still make the soccer finals .This makes the audience feel very comfortable as they see how the dialogue can bring back someone’s inner
