Since the invention of the automobile, there have been many great innovations within the industry. The suspension of the automobile serves as a good example of one of those innovations. Could you imagine riding around in your brand new Nissan Skyline GT-R, with the same suspension methods used to stabilize old horse and carriage buggies centuries ago? That would not serve its purpose very well. Due to the demands of society, vehicle stabilization became a priority to increase safety. Throughout the years, there have been different variations of vehicle suspension systems. For example, we have adaptive air, solid axle, and dead axle suspensions. Without the advancements made in the way we travel and transport goods, civilization could not prosper the way it has. As with many things, breakthrough of any kind can be traced back to a mistake or a situation forcing people to think things through differently. The modern suspension of today’s vehicle is made of different components including those due to different circumstances. According to Motorera.com, a car crash that occurred when Alanson Brush’s brother wrecked his car, forced Alanson to rethink the suspension on the vehicle in order to make sure it could not happen again. Therefore he came up with the idea to add front coil springs along with shock absorbers. This was unheard of at the time and …show more content…
Due to the high demands of the consumers, there had to be changes made in order to provide a flawless driving experience. Past systems did a wonderful job at reducing the shock and swaying of vehicles, but there is always room for improvement. Premium versions of vehicle suspension are typically found on most luxury vehicles due to the time and cost that is needed to install them. Brands such as Lexus, Mercedes, Ferrari, and Audi are a few that have advanced suspension
design made the car very strong and durable that is one main reason you see many
How could Curtis Automotive Hoist (CAH) maintain its fast growth and prestigious brand image with expanded market share given its limited financial and human resources? Should it adopt a market penetration strategy in US or should it follow a market development strategy and expand to Europe? If it adopts the market penetration strategy, should it approach the US market through the establishment of a sales office or through enhanced joint efforts with its current distributor? If entering Europe is desired, should CAH start with licensing or joint venture agreement with Bar Maisse or through direct investment?

In 1960, the American car landscape itself had expanded as Detroit began offering “compacts” alongside their full-size models. Many drivers, however, were looking for something in between these full size and compact model; this interest gave way to a new class, the intermediate. With many innovations between 1960 and 1964, like the 406 cubic inch V8 from Ford, the 389 from General Motors, and the wedge V8s from Chrysler, the golden age of muscle cars began in 1964. The Pontiac Tempest G...
Henry Ford revolutionized the invention of cars, and it became much more popular. More people at the time began to buy cars, and streets and traffic had to be updated and were modernized because of this. With the popularization of of the Model T cars and other automobiles came the invention of the assembly line. The assembly line was used to create the Model T, and many other products by Ford himself. The assembly line helps in putting together large products with many tiny pieces in a small amount of time. Working in an assembly line may not be the most “fun” job, but it definitely helped the production of said product. And with an easier and faster production comes a lower priced product. And with lower priced product comes more eager customers. And that is why the car became so

The world of technology is ever changing and advancing. With the automotive industry in play technology is constantly surpassing what is available today with what can be done for tomorrow. Technology and the automotive industry go hand in hand with constant improvement to components of cars. Due to technology advancement there is competition within the car industry, especially between American car companies and European car companies. European car companies provide their buyers with innovative variety and revolutionary luxuries. European car technology is superior to American car technology due to their safety, entertainment, and luxury features.
She explains it’s because scientist are able to receive more accurate data from them. By this the scientist were able to innovate the car’s structure to improve safety in newer models.
The Woss suspension trainer proves to be an effective piece of exercise equipment. When it comes to cars, there are plenty of safety features incorporated by manufactures to ensure a smooth and safe ride. Some of these features seat belts, airbags, and antilock brakes. Nowadays, there have been great improvements to technology within cars to aid in the avoidance of collisions altogether. Examples of these technologies include blind spot detection, backup cameras, 360-degree cameras, and autonomous driving. Many of these newer safety features are there to avoid collisions. However, whenever a collision does occur, there is not much there to protect passengers in the rear of the car. Looking into this, there is evidence that shows that rear passengers do obtain injuries in collisions and pose the threat of contributing to others injuries. So, why are rear passenger airbags not standard in your vehicle?
When taking your car to a track day a good suspension is key. Having a track tuned suspension allows the driver to take corners at a higher speed resulting in faster lap times. The Nissan Features an Attesa AWD system and a Blisten Suspension. The Zr1 is RWD with an independent rear suspension. Furthermore with the GTR's AWD and electronic suspension leads to a big advantage on the track.
There are many different types of suspension systems that are used in cars today, and some that were discontinued due to their uselessness. One example of an older suspension system is called the swing axle suspension. This is a very old type, used in many sports cars in the 50’s, but had disappeared for about 2 decades. This was due to the weakness of the system. The handling was awful, as the camber angle can be noticeably changed by a simple bouncing motion, and the change of the static weight and body roll as the car took a corner. The only advantage to this type of system was that it could provide independent shock absorption. (Wan)
Lift kits on trucks change the angle of the driveshaft and can cause U-joint and powertrain issues. Slamming a vehicle drastically changes the alignment angles causing the automobile to wear out tires quickly. Another difference between suspension modifications and the upgrades mentioned above is the amount of work involved in returning it to a factory original condition.
The average driver doesn’t think about what keeps their car moving or what keeps them on the road, but that’s because they don’t have to. The average driver doesn’t have to worry about having enough downforce to keep them on the road or if they will reach the adhesive limit of their car’s tires around a turn. These are the things are the car designers, professional drivers, racing pit crews, serious sports car owners, and physicist think about. Physics are an important part of every sports and racing car design. The stylish curves and ground effects on sports cars are usually there not just for form but function as well allowing you to go speeds over 140 mph in most serious sports cars and remain on the road and in reasonable control.
The suitable alternative material in place of Carbon Fiber for the rear spoiler is Fiber Glass. It has similar properties as compared to Carbon Fiber. It is also a type of fiber reinforced plastic but here the reinforcement fiber is glass fiber. Fiber Glass is a strong lightweight material. But Fiber-glass is not as strong as Carbon fiber, it is less brittle, and its raw materials are cheaper. The bulk strength of Fiber-glass and weight are better when compared to metals and it can be more readily moulded into complex shapes. Other names for Fiber-glass are Glass-reinforced
