Production Consoles An audio production console is generally used for the production and post-production of music and films. They are designed to give the engineer the ability to mix different sounds simultaneously and alter the dynamic processing; such as equalization, reverberation, compression, and delay. There are two different types of consoles called analog and digital consoles. In an analog console, all of the sound inputs are physically wired to output jacks in a speaker. In a digital console, all of the analog signals are converted to electrical signals which can be stored on a computer or disk.
