In this audience analysis, I have addressed a situation in which I am called on to present quarterly sales information at an in-person meeting to a group of stakeholders, including managers, salespeople, and customers. I will explain how I will address the communication to this audience by answering the following questions: (1) What characteristics of the audience must I consider?, (2) What communication channels are appropriate? (3) What are some considerations to keep in mind given the diversity of the audience?, and (4) How would I ensure that my message is effective?
The characteristics of the audience that I must consider when addressing the audience are the primary stakeholders. They are employees, managers, and owners. They are individuals who will be affected by an endeavor and can influence it, but they are directly involved with doing the work and engaging in economic transactions with the business. They are individuals who beliefs are opinions held by people; their values are views of their sense of right or wrong. Their attitudes are predispositions to behavior such as inclination to agree or disagree; approve or disapprove. Their behaviors are actions taken that are not always consistent with beliefs, values and attitudes.
The communication channels to this audience that are appropriate for this situation is face-to-face communication. Conclusion, to end my presentation, I must summarize my main points as I would in the conclusion of a written paper. I have to remember that there is a difference between spoken words appropriate for the ear and formally written words intended for reading, including terminating my presentation with an interesting remark or an appropriate punch line that will leave my listeners with a positive impression and a sense of completion.

Law and Order: SVU (Special Victims Unit) and Bones were the two shows I decided to watch for analyzing content. The reason more than one show was picked was because I wanted a little variety in the information and data I was receiving. Different shows are going to provide different information and provide different data. These two shows covered a wide spectrum of crime shows and would be helpful in providing variety in the data collection process. My topic of choice was gender and how gender roles are portrayed in these television shows. I chose Law and Order: SVU and Bones because they portray two very different versions of crime shows. Law and Order: SVU is a crime show that shows the police side of the crime process. This show deals specifically with the arrest, fact-finding process, and trial process of a crime. It does not deal with the scientific aspect of determining how victims were killed or hurt. Bones in contrast, is not entirely focused on the arrest and trial process but more specifically focuses on the scientific and anthropological aspect of determining facts in a crime scenario. Although the show does have some of the police actions involved, its main focus is on science. In conjunction with this idea, I find these two shows the most enjoyable to watch and was curious about how they portrayed gender roles. The question was whether they would be similar or not.

Knowing the audience makes it easier to amend your communication, to make it acceptable for that particular audience, as well as following the Data Protection guidelines. For example, if you were talking to a business man who has worked at a company for most of his life, he’s going to be well structured when it comes to business talk. However perhaps there’s a new employee who doesn’t know the ins and outs of the business world yet, you would have to avoid using jargon to avoid him getting confused and misunderstanding.
There are many ways to get the attention of an audience. The speaker could tell a story that is personal and on topic, along with using voice infection and variation. The speaker should also be sure that the presentation will “have interesting, relevant, and up-to-date information on the topic that is being presented” (Keogh, 2015). Visuals, such as graphs and photos or animated graphics, are also a way to get the audience’s attention. One suggestion to get the audience’s attention is to have the speaker move around, if possible, and ask the audience questions, not just stand in
CONCLUDING PURPOSE (restate specific purpose, reinforce relevance of topic to audience): Today I’ve informed everyone with the history behind The Great Pyramid of Giza and its significance.
Throughout the semester, we have studied numerous communication theories. Their purpose is to help understand exactly what happens when we interact with others. We might not necessarily agree with all of the theories, but the idea is to develop tools to evaluate situations we may encounter. Often, when the theories are explained in the readings or lecture, it is beneficial to apply the concepts to a "real life" situation. Using this approach, I will use a situation that many of us have faced, or will face, and analyze it according to a particular communication theory.
Over the recent four months in Communication 1402 class, I have addressed three formal speechs and completed a number of chapters in the corresponding textbook “Communication Works”. This course of Communication aims to provide general information what public speaking is and how to address a public speaking. Recalling back the experience during the processes of completing the Speech to Imform, Speech to Persuade, and Group Presentation, I will draw a conclusion about this course and these three presentations in five aspects, comprising my previous perception of public speaking before this course; learning from the Speech to Inform; the goal and evaluation of Speech to Persuade; learning from the Group Presentation; the most important thing learned from this course.

I have also learned about different types of audiences and speeches including persuasive, informative, entertaining and delivering special occasion speeches. It came to my attention that whenever I was making these presentations or speeches, I needed to do so with confidence, consistence and practice before the actual presentation and completely eliminate the element of panic. It was also clear that capturing the attention of the audience and engaging them in the whole process, it was necessary to have a very strong introduction and also try and use visuals to deliver the message. It was therefore vital to respect each person’s diversity and cultural values (Lucas, 2011).
Nevertheless, one of the most important constants among all of us, regardless of our differences, is that, above all, we are buyers. We use or consume on a regular basis food, clothing, shelter, transportation, education, equipment, vacations, necessities, luxuries, services, and even ideas. As consumers, we play an essential role in the health of the economy; local, national and international. The purchase decision we make affect the requirement for basic raw materials, for transportation, for production, for banking; they affect the employment of employees and the growth of resources, the successfulness of some industries and the failure of others. In order to be successful in any business and specifically in today’s dynamic and rapidly evolving marketplace, marketers need to know everything they can about consumers; what they are want, what they are think, how they are work, how they are spend their leisure time. They have to find out the personal and group influences that affect consumer decisions and how these decisions are made.
