Police and Body Cameras: An Annotated Bibliography
CONSIDERING POLICE BODY CAMERAS. (2015). Harvard Law Review, 128(6), 1794 1817.
The article I am writing will bring up issue about police body cameras, some of the legal information and what is the community involvement in this. There are topics brought up about the incident in Ferguson and other police shootings that did or did not have body cams. There have been talks in communities about trying to reduce the police misconducts in the communities and the workplace. It is proven that officers who didn’t wear body cams had 2 times the illegal use of force incidents.

Usually it’s their word against the officers, but BWC are treated as independent witnesses and are not biased based on feelings. Some cameras have been upgraded to Google Glass, so you can actually see what the officer sees, giving a better perspective of events. Cameras on officers allow for suspects to plead guilty faster, when they are confronted with the footage. This is more of a debate type article, but still has some valid information. NYPD and LAPD are already using body cameras along with a quarter of the country. Obama has already funded 50,000 cameras to be used for law enforcement. Skeptics argue that cameras would be useless and used to monitor the general population. The article is narrated by three individuals with different stands on cameras, two for the use of cameras and one against. They debate back and forth about effectiveness, trial outcomes, general public involvement and learning process related to cameras. This will help me see an argument against cameras, but also providing good information for the use of cameras. This debate will help me appeal to those who do not agree with body worn cameras and also those who agree with me. This gives me good insight into both arguments which will strengthen my paper.
Topic Sentence: Even though body worn cameras are disputed by some, they will ultimately be the solution for law

This document discusses that rules should not be enforced only by local police departments, but for Canada as a whole.
