For some schools, students take French classes or Spanish classes by using cellphones to call classmates and to speak with them in that language. Some schools do not allow phones during school for they have either banned or have limited the use of cellphone. http://www.usatoday.com/story/tech/personal/2013/08/07/views-shift-on-cell-phones-in-schools/2607381/ Just about year beginning of school in fall, students would pack technologies in the backpacks like Ipads and IPhones. Though phones have been banned from some schools and can not be use unless if it is in emergency. http://www.usatoday.com/story/tech/personal/2013/08/07/views-shift-on-cell-phones-in-schools/2607381/ Students still use phones during class even though they are not supposed to, but they have reasons why they do it. Students would usually go on if they are done with their assignments. And everyday, students still bring their phones to school, so why can't teachers just let them use it. Students still bring them to talk to people, do research, message people, or to play games. Teachers would tell a student to go read a book or to sit quietly, but the ... ... middle of paper ... ... down a bit. Students would have more things to do and phones can be an educational tool and students can still learn from them. Not only that, phones has built in internet service so students can use the internet just about anywhere they want. http://www.debate.org/opinions/should-students-be-allowed-to-use-cell-phones-in-school Works Cited Dean. Cell phones are harming education and causing grades to be lower than what they could be. The other day I got out of class early in the business building, as I usually do. I was walking down the hallway, back to my dorm, as I walked across a classroom that I happened to look inside. As the professor was in the front of the classroom giving his lesson for that day, I noticed that about fifteen of twenty students had their phones out not paying one little ounce of attention to the professor. I do not know about you, but I can not read a status on Facebook and retain the information that my professor is giving me, but that is just me.
Technology is everywhere; in our homes, cars, workplace, even in our pockets, but what about our classrooms? I’m sure you all remember the never ending lists of required school supplies; multiple composition books, a sturdy binder, a good supply of paper and extensive amounts of pencils and pens that always seemed to disappear a few weeks after their purchase. Take that memory and replace it with a new list of school supplies that only consists of a journal, a small stack of paper, two pens (can’t forget the backup), and your cellphone. This is the list required to properly function in Dr. David Preston’s English class. Dr. Preston is a former English professor from UCLA who currently teaches English at Ernest Righetti High School.

Bringing your phone to school has many educational benefits that help increase quality of education. Cell phones are also an amazing tool for emergency communications. Blocking and ignoring the fact that the internet is taking over the 21st century will not help anyone. No questions asked, cell phones most definitely belong in school. Cell phones are a very helpful multi purpose tool in the classroom.
Have you ever heard of the gruesome Columbine High School massacre? This incident occurred on April 20th 1999 and involved two students embarking on a shooting rampage, killing twelve students, a teacher and wounding twenty three others. Unfortunately during this incident, the school's most easily accessible phone was on the other side of the school in the library. Perhaps some of these lives could have been saved if the students in this class had cell phones that they could've used to contact the authorities more quickly. The issue we are addressing today is the use of cellular devices in educational facilities. I believe that cell phone use is of extreme convenience, and has academically beneficial aspects, among it's so called "faults".
Cellphones, are one of the best and most beneficial assets to ever have at your high school! There is always two sides to any situation or opinionated question. One side of this opinionated question would be that cellphones are too distracting and would never be used in the way schools would prefer them to use it. The other side of the opinionated question would be that we live in a technology based world now and if high school students use technology with the cellphone properly during school then the cellphone can be very beneficial and very useful for them. Cellphones in school are more beneficial than you think they are bad. People usually think at first that cellphones in school may be a bad idea but cellphones in school would make school more beneficial and enhance learning for their students.
The part of society that is against the use of cell phones in school do it because of the interference that a cell phone can cause. Nevertheless we must accept that we live in a world full of technology. We miss out if we do not take the upper hand of the educational power of the cell phone. Overall, cell phones supply us with learning resources and encourage suitable use of technology. Therefore the schools should not ban cell the use of cell phones on school grounds.
Cell phones are small and portable yet provide so much to its user with being able to look up anything to calling your parents in case of an emergency or if you need to give them a heads up on something. With the way things are today people need to focus on incorporating cell phones into daily life and finding ways to make them more suitable in a classroom environment. Teachers are already doing this though with using apps that work with the whole class and can track data and usage of a student. It cannot be debated that cell phones are beneficial in school as before cell phones you would have to go to your local library and hopefully find what you are looking for. Cell phones belong in a school environment as they can be helpful and it 's a parent 's right to be able to get ahold of their
It’s not a reasonable defense for using cell phones. You can spend time for your cell phones at home. I can say that students must always be busy in the classroom, they all have their works to do instead of connecting with peers in other countries. Why don’t they use their own time to do that? That skill doesn’t need teachers to teach you how, but teachers are really necessary for explaining other lessons. As I know, today’s children probably don’t need teachers for their digital devices, most of them learn by themselves.
Schools should allow cell phones in schools for children's protection and safety. Secondly, cell phones can keep you connected with your buddies. Instead of screaming, and yelling in the halls to ask your buddy for books, you can simply call them on your cell phone. Some students ask themselves, "If teachers are allowed to use cell phones in class?"... ...
Picture this, there has been a school lockdown, the suspect cut the landlines so no one could call the police for a rescue. However, the suspect was captured by the police much faster than he imagined. The last scene wouldn’t have happened if it was one decade ago, because cell phones were not popular in schools then. When it comes to cell phones, some people think they should not be permitted in schools, and other people think they should be permitted in schools. I agree with the latter opinion for the following reasons: Cell phones are an efficient way to communicate when emergencies occur in school; cell phones can be a great tool for learning during school hours; and the current prohibitive rules on cell phones are merely fruitless efforts. Cell phones should be permitted in schools, because they could be very beneficial and practical in schools.
To begin with, cell phones are needed in school because a student can have an emergency. As teens get older they are becoming more independent. Often the only way that their parents can be sure that their kids are safe is by calling them. Imagine if there was a fire in a school and your child was the only one to know about it. He/she could call 911 or his/her parents.Or imagine if your child was stuck in the school while it was burning. He/she can call 911, her parents, or a nearby friends.
