That is definitely not a problem, we now have the option to see or view their posts on the top of the comments. From the variety of hot topics that are covered by news, we can see that influence of the public opinion from the Internet cannot not be underestimated, but the scholars have a different view against ‘Could the Internet be the public sphere’. In this essay, commenting function in Yahoo News articles will be used to evaluate its performance of opinions expressions with Habermas’ normative standard for public sphere, and to discuss the limitation of Habermas’ deliberative approach of the public sphere within the Internet.
Besides YouTube, Shaw uses her Instagram, Twitter, public Facebook account, and personal website to engage viewers and provide the community different forms of interaction. Viewers communicate by doing things such as commenting, sharing, or even just liking the post. Viewer’s may express satisfaction with the video, such as Jenna Week’s comment on a recent video that says “I love your videos! Please do more yoga videos like this.” Viewers may also choose to give negative feedback, such as when Jackie Ross expresses her concern in the comments of another video stating that it is “unrealistic to cut out sweets completely.” By allowing viewers to comment and give feedback, Shaw is creating a medium of interaction and support for the
1,924,913,929 is the number of views on Youtube for the music video “Gangnam Style” by Psy, whose song was spread worldwide in just a few clicks. When I saw this unrealistic [D2] number of views, I was not astonished by Psy’ popularity but by the powerulness of social media to that can connect two billion people to into one music video. The primary reason that Psy he could earn the title of “The most viewed Youtube video in the history”, and he could become a global star within just a couple of months is the social media, Youtube[D3] . As Psy’s phenomenon demonstrates, social media has been fundamental in our lives and be...

The bus is filled with children ranging from grades six to twelve. There is chatter surrounding me. People are discussing their hobbies, homework, and weekend plans. Imagine a girl squeezing through the aisle, while getting pushed to the left and to the right. She takes a seat and looks over her shoulder. There are three more students lounging next to her. One is blasting his music.Another is talking on her cell phone. The third person is shouting to his friend across the bus. As she hangs off her seat, she ponders about how convenient it would be to have an after school club. An after school activity that everyone would appreciate would be a book club because members can discuss the books, find unfamiliar genres to read, and establish new friendships.
Conversation is the interactive exchange of ideas by spoken words between two or more people. Throughout the day people interact with others through small talk. Conversation is crucial in forming a community because it allows people to form relationships with others in their general area. A community is a group of people that share common interests. In some cases communities are formed by people who live in a specific geographical location. Without conversation many communities, large or small, would eventually drift apart and everyone would be divided. The major key in bringing communities together is face-to-face, direct conversation with other people in a community.
Sidedness messages can be defined as messages that deliver an attitude favoring one side of an argument without consideration for other possibilities. Whereas two-sided nonrefutational messages presents two viewpoints and argues the opposing view. O’Rourke suggests that one-sided messages are best when, audience initially agrees, audience is not well-educated, or the audience will not be exposed to counter-persuasion. Where a two-sided message is best when, the audience initially disagrees, the audience will be exposed to counter-persuasion, the audience has a low level of knowledge, and you want enduring results. (O’Rourke, 167).
In bringing attention to the sad state of women in the video game industry and community there is no platform better than the internet, specifically YouTube. The internet is the home of many in the gaming community and has immense potential to be a source of societal change due to the capability of spreading information around the globe in a fraction of a second. In choosing this platform, I draw inspiration from YouTube content creator Anita Sarkeesian’s Feminist Frequency, which is a web based video series that critically examines the representation of women in pop culture (“About”). Sarkeesian has been the subject of ire for her criticism of the video game industry, but her long running series illustrates that the web based video log format can be a great tool due to its accessibility and the ability for customization of content.
Light hearted and full of wonder, Alexa takes the world as she sees it. The magic of movies captures her sense of astonishment, and grows her imagination. As big as the sun is Alexa’s imagination. Similarly to Poseidon “who have an active imagination and an intense inner life beyond their everyday existence” (Stassinopoulos pg 220-221). Poseidon, who is known for his imagination, loves his mythical existence and enjoys the extraordinary. Further, dreams are an enormous part of Alexa’s life. They allow her wildest thoughts to be played out right in front of her. Additionally, dreams are not only a thing of the night, Alexa is a repeated daydreamer. Alexa’s life can hit boring patches that “can bring about the urge to escape from the responsibilities
What makes a good communicator and what makes a bad communicator, or rather, what makes one good at communicating their message as opposed to what makes one not good at communicating their message. What does it take to be a good communicator or a bad communicator? There are specific traits, tone, body language, and mechanics that all good communicators have in common. These traits are what make the communicator’s purpose conveyed properly, and the lack of those traits lead to bad communication. In order to be a good communicator, one must be Strategic, Professional, and Adaptable.
Over time, humans have achieved amazing and wondrous things. In Sophocles’, “Ode to man” the chorus makes a claim about these accomplishments; “Wonders are many, and none is more wonderful than man.”(77). This claim by the chorus essentially means that no matter how many amazing achievements humans have accomplished, none can compare to the wonder of man. By stating this, we the audience know that the chorus views the wonder of man to be the greatest accomplishment. I feel that youtube and its ability to connect me and users like me to many different people is a truly amazing achievement. Youtube is a place where anyone with internet connection can go and enjoy different videos that people create. It is useful for a spectrum of people, educators can go online to youtube and find educational videos to show their class. Students can go online to youtube and find a video that helps them learn a
Over the course of the last several years I have explored several on line communities such as intimate adult chat, travel, dogs, trivia, and writers. Mostly I was curious about what draws people to chat rooms and what benefit, if any, is derived from their going to chat rooms. I was also curious as to whether people actually used the information gleaned, whether it was beneficial or did they simply just check out rooms because they were lonely and wanted to find new friends who had similar interests. On a personal level, I found that once I entered a community or chat room, the more specific I was about what I was looking for, the better the information provided. I found that the information given was given freely and was generally useful. Worse case scenario was if someone didn't know they generally referred me to a source that could provide the needed information. I believe you can find just about anything on line, but what about other people? Did they share my beliefs about the information obtained on line? And why do I sometimes still feel more comfortable if I can "touch" the information or "talk live" to another person? Did other people feel the same way? I must admit that the romantic in me kicked in when I read stories about people donating kidneys to chat room friends or arranged a reunion between people who haven't met in over 30 years. Would I find this in my classroom survey?
YouTube is a magical field, where creativity is the key to success. YouTube stars get plenty of benefits that ordinary people don?t have. For instance, YouTubers can develop lasting friendships with other YouTubers. You can see this with YouTubers such as FousyTube, Sidemen, and Vitaly, who all became close friends because of YouTube. They also make fortunes making simple videos that let them afford big houses and luxurious cars. These feelings and wishes are completely normal due to the show-offs of money they have. In this essay, I?m going to tell you how to be a successful YouTuber, and why a lot of YouTube channels failed to make it to the top. Read the rest of this essay and enjoy being a famous YouTuber.
The United States’ longest running program is actually a news/talk show called Meet the Press. It began as a radio program in 1945, and had little changes when it was aired on NBC for the first half-hour television broadcast in November 1947. Meet the Press May have been the first talk show to be shown on television, but it wasn’t the first regularly scheduled talk show. Sylvester Weaver produced the first regularly programmed talk show called Broadway Open House from May 1950 to August 1951. Two Veteran Jerry Lester and Morey Amsterdam, who were stand up comedians, shared the hosting duties for this talk/variety program. Broadway Open House was a mixture of routines, singing, dancing and comedy, which would start a trend of new talk shows to soon follow. The Tonight Show staring Johnny Carson, which premiered October 1, 1962, was one of those shows that followed Broadway Open House. With Johnny’s little competition, appearing on his show became one of the first big breaks for many upcoming stars on the road of fame and fortune. His show became so big that Johnny negotiated a deal with NBC to give him 2 million dollars per year, while his taping schedule included twelve weeks of four shows weekly, twenty-five weeks of only three shows a week, and fifteen weeks of vacation. Some of the stars that made got their start on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson were people like Jerry Seinfield, Roseanne, and Gary Shandling. When Johnny Carson decided to retire, his show was given to comedian Jay Leno, making The Tonight Show one of the greatest and longest running shows ever.
In conclusion, the Internet has built up our society, but it could also tear it down with a major Internet black out. The Internet offers great opportunities for technological advancement. I believe the Internet was one of the best creations of time and I cannot wait to see what is in store for the future of the Internet and its relationship with human kind.
