The "Yellow Wallpaper” was written by Charlotte Perkins Gilman. The narrator of the story is anonymous. Narrator’s husband John prescribes her to take a rest so, John rent a colonial mansion to relieve her temporary nervous depression. Her husband and brother have diagnosed her ailment. The narrator feels that she is very ill, but is always dismissed by her husband and brother. The story is about a woman who confines in a room with barred windows, the room has sinister and unpleasant yellow wallpaper. The narrator incessantly looks wallpaper and she develops a figure of women trapped with the bars in the wallpaper. The narrator observes that daylight and moonlight changes wallpaper, in the daylight wallpaper change so rapidly when the sun strikes through the window the pattern becomes unaligned and infuriated. In the moonlight wallpaper changes differently, then daylight because the patterned becomes bars. According to the narrator, "a thing nobody seems to notice but myself, and that is that it changes as the light changes"(479). After the narrator watched wallpaper continuous she starts hallucination to see living things that appears in the wallpaper such as eyes and women. According to the narrator, “The pattern lolls like a broken neck and two bulbous eyes stare at you upside down”(475).The connection between the visual patterns of the wallpaper is different than the smell of the wallpaper. The smell of the yellow all over the house, and it 's not very unpleasant smell, but the feel of the paper as she traces the pattern is negatively affecting her senses and her mind. The pattern of the wallpaper is formless and it fascinates the narrator as she attempts to figure out how it is organized. Within the pattern, she focuses on the desperate woman looking for an escape behind the patterned wallpaper. It reveals that the story during the time when women are captured in a situation, where women 's does not have right to make her own decision and cannot speak in the family problem. According to a narrator, “there are so many of those creeping women and they creep so fast”(482). Women felt trapped as like behind the wallpaper because society controlled and judged to the lives of women and most important for innovative women and women who are not obedient to their husbands. The story explains the women 's rights and mental ailment. In 1800 's where females always treated as a housemaid without any rights to a take stand or give opinions because society tells that females are weak and they don’t have value in contrast to males. All the struggle behind the metal illness is unpleasant because the pain of the people who have a metal disorder that nobody can understand their feeling and situation they going through.
