I believe it is important for any student who wants to do their best in a class to take a moment to evaluate their own work to determine the rate their writing is progressing and how they can continue to advance their writing. When I looked through my own work I asked myself “what have I learned this semester?” and “what do I still need to learn in order to improve my writing?”. Answering both these questions will help me with my last step of my self-evaluation, developing a plan to learn new skills. During this semester, I have strengthened my writing by trying new writing techniques, learning about purpose, and finding new ways of combating writers block. My first essay in this class was less focused then the essays I wrote later in this class. I was overwhelmed by the length requirement of the essay, and had limited experience with different writing techniques. This semester, however, I have attempted both listing and outlining. I had never used either techniques before, nevertheless, my writing benefited did from these new techniques; however, I believe I had more success with the listing technique. I used listing while writing my classify and divide essay and I believe it helped me to stay on topic and keep my writing organized. I used an outline to help me write my compare and contrast essay, and while it did help with organization, it was more complicated than the listing technique. Before this class, I understood purpose was important; however, during this class I have discovered that putting more focus on purpose can result in a more interesting thesis and paper. I have learned to think about purpose before writing my essay, once I have narrowed my topic I ask myself why would anyone want to read my essay. Consideri... ... middle of paper ... ...e in my daily writings such as, e-mails, letters, notes and discussion board responses to practice what I have learned. In final analysis, my writing has greatly improved during this semester, and having looked at the area's I most need to work on has given me an awareness of what my weaknesses are. Examining what I have learned and what I need to learn allows me to generate a strategy to fortify my writing skills. Critiquing my own work has given me insight into how my writing is progressing in this class and allowed me to see short comings I had missed previously. Self-evaluation is a helpful tool for anyone who wants to continue to learn what areas they can improve upon and how much progress they are making. I believe those who appraise their own work will have a better understanding of their strengths and weaknesses then those who do not evaluate themselves.
After reading our mentors notes and analyzing what we have learned through this term, I have read all assignments that were submitted before our midterm exam. This gave me chance to follow up with how I advanced my writing skills from the beginning. As it was interesting to see how I can point out the missing qualities of these essays, it was nice to see our mentor’s notes justifying my points.
Change is interwoven in the learning process and therefore is inevitable. It is beyond amazing to reflect on ourselves and see how much we change in just six months. I do not know what is more remarkable—the change itself or knowing that that change represents an expansion in our knowledge, a growth in our abilities, and an improvement in our writing. However, one thing I am sure of is that it feels good to see that, excuse the cliché, hard work does pay off.
As this semester has begun, and I have begun to adjust to this course’s requirements, expectations, and goals I have found myself taking more risks and challenging my prior writing style. I’ve been a little apprehensive with my writing style this semester and feel that at times I may be missing the entire ideas of the topic. Although I do the work and get a good grade, I always feel uncertain before posting a blog or turning in my final assignment. Although the entire courses topic is nothing foreign to me it has become a challenge for me to write about.
Concluding this fall semester in Ballet II, I believe that I have gained huge improvements. As stated in my midterm self-evaluation, I wanted to spend my time in ballet to focus on areas of performance quality. I set four goals for myself to work on as well that included: stronger lower abdominal core, the use of my port te bras, releasing tension in my hands, and increasing the articulation of my feet. In addition to these certain goals, my hip injury has been a main focus throughout this entire semester.
To ensure good quality and coverage of health services, facilities can conduct self-assessment by analyzing and comparing the actual activities against plans made and targets. The analysis of quality of health services refers to quality of the best possibility treatment patients/clients receive. This requires the reference to the protocol and guidelines for standardized treatment. For example, the proportion of children under one get the correct vaccines at the right intervals. The analysis of coverage suggests the number of patients/clients receive a particular services compared to those who should have received it. For example, how many children under 1 year old are immunized?
In the past three months I feel like I have accomplished a great deal. As the semester comes to an end I find myself reflecting not only how I have survived the first semester but also what I have learned. The most important thing I have learned so far is how to become a better writer. I did not think it could really happen to me. I did not think I could handle all the work. I did not think I could actually become a better writer. Some how after all the hours of writing, and putting effort into the papers that I wrote this semester, I became a better writer. I did this because I concentrated on two very important areas, with the attitude of, if I could just become better in those then I would become a better writer. With help from an awesome teacher and a reliable tutor I have become a better writer by improving my skills in the areas of procrastination and content.
As a second language learner I have never expected myself to be a perfect writer throughout the semester. Even If English was my first language still, I would not be a perfect writer. It is not about first or second language, it is about how well I understand the learning objectives. Then organizing and writing with my own ideas and putting them in my paper. I am going to be honest, I am not good at English subject and English subject is my strongest weakness than the other subjects. In this paper I will discuss and analyze my own writing, reflecting on the ways that my writing has improved throughout the semester.
Self-assessment tests have been around for as long as I can remember. The first self-assessment test I took was when I joined the Navy. I remember thinking what in the world does any of this have to do with joining the military. I soon discovered that it tested more than mental aptitude. It really showed mental, physical, and social traits that one possessed when put in situations that they had no control over. The tests are designed to gauge where one will be when stuck in a situation that they cannot get out of like out to sea on a boat or submarine for six months at a time. These tests, no matter which one you take, are as individual as the person taking them.
My scores in sensing and evaluating, and my overall score places me in the top 25th percentile of the MBA students that took this evaluation. This indicates that I am an active listener that waits for people to finish their thoughts and that I understand the meaning of what people are saying. My responding score was in the bottom 25th percentile indicating that I do not provide feedback as much as other do (McShane & Von Glinow, 2016, p.
The feedback received from the instructor pinpointed and forced me to acknowledge what may have been lacking in my writing with distinctive regard to my work being choppy. At the beginning of the semester my writing was all over the board; however, as the semester has progressed I try to write with a plan rather than just freestyling.
During my initial self-evaluation and assessment of me as a perspective counselor, self- awareness was an essential aspect of becoming an effective counselor. I am aware of certain things that can prevent me from becoming a competent counselor such as being unaware of my strengths and weaknesses. As a current community support worker, I have already had the opportunity to work with individuals who require different levels of support. Providing assistance to the specific population has given me the chance to utilize my communication skills. My work experience has also allowed me to be more self-aware, and open minded. After taking the techniques of counseling class I am more than confident that I have grown professionally since the beginning

As my English 101 class comes to an end, I have realized how much I have transformed as a writer. In this essay, I am going to explain what I realized my strengths and weaknesses are as a writer and how they have manifested themselves throughout the quarter. I was skeptical at first coming into this class knowing that English takes formidable work and dedication, but I am very proud of the progress I have made. We completed a great deal of work throughout the quarter; from grammar exercises, summary reviews, and two challenging essays. Throughout the quarter I found myself improving in each category. As a writer, my skills and confidence have developed into more clarity and thought, something I have always wanted to be, as a result of a well constructed class that led to a superb educational experience.
My interview with mechanical engineer Benjamin Rashford went as planned. I felt that I got plenty of experience that I wouldn’t have been able to gain without this interview. During the interview I made a great deal of observations. One of the thing I noticed was that as mechanical engineer, He wasn’t used to a one on one confrontation with someone. He was more used to performing in teams and not sitting in a room with one person. But he explained to me that these are very important in any career fields and would deem useful in my future. He thought that today youth believed that if you are a stem major then communication are not that important and tried to explain how communication has helped him become
Without a clear purpose statement the writer can easily stray from the topic of the assignment and confuse the audience. Some writers find it difficult to present a clear purpose or easily get confused, to avoid this a writer should present a straight-forward statement. Recently I was asked to write an essay in two class periods, meaning that the quality of my essay wouldn’t be as high when compared to my other essays that I had a longer time to work on. Due to the amount of time given, I knew that in order to write an excellent essay I needed to establish a clear statement. In my essay I established my purpose through the sentence “ This has led me to urge the addition of “Shitty First Drafts” by Anne Lamott and “Writing for an Audience” by Linda Flower to the curriculum for Seniors.” With my statement, I present a clear idea that is straight forward without clusters of high vocabulary fillers that could. As writers in a higher advanced educational system, our assignments must not only catch the reader’s eye but give enough information as well. In this situation of academia, a clear purpose statement is only the first step in writing an efficient essay. The next necessary step in the writing process is to create a connection and address the audience
