Writing is an activity which allows me to express thoughts I can not always verbalize. I enjoy writing, but typically need time to get my thoughts in order. The benefit to writing down my thoughts, as opposed to speaking them, is that I can edit and decide if my written words match my thoughts. Our first assignment was to write a personal narrative, and I chose to write about what I have learned from my family. This was a fun paper to write, and I later shared it with my family. I enjoyed letting them know how they have been a positive influence for me. It has been a long time since I’ve written a paper to be graded. Writing Reflection Essay

- Writing a decent essay is as tedious, nerve racking, and strenuous as constructing a layer cake from scratch. First you have to decide that you are going to tackle this feat, and that can be your biggest challenge, motivation. Then you have, you must figure out what kind of cake batter you want to use. Collect all the ingredients to mesh together well, making each layer at a time. You throw all the layers together hoping that somehow they will come together to form a nifty design. But, they don’t right away, for now it is just a leaning tower of cake parts....   [tags: Reflection]

A Reflection Upon My Writing Essay

- “As a student, I write for multiple purposes. Purpose is the key for how my thoughts are dictated on this blank white sheet.” After writing this in my in-class journal discussing my transition from five-paragraph writing to actual formation of thoughts without a specific format, I realized that this process was a larger undertaking than I originally thought. Through endless amounts of essay writing the personal academic improvements that have taken place this quarter are indescribable in comparison to any other academic feat made in my brief but fulfilling college career....   [tags: Reflection Essay]

Reflection Paper On Writing And Writing

- Since I was a kid, I was never an enthusiastic writer (my mother says it’s because I don’t read enough). However, after taking this FIQWS course, my attitude towards writing has changed. Prior to college, I was the kid who sat in the back of English class and groaned whenever the teacher would mention the words, “write” and “essay” in the same sentence. In contrast, now I actually look forward to writing essays. In retrospect, after looking back on FIQWS class and the pass writing assignments, I discovered FIQWS showed me an aspect of writing 4 years in high school could not....   [tags: Writing, Essay, Idea, Kanye West]

Writing Self-Reflection Essay

- Providence when not divine ,it is foresight' was a thought that was always haunting me from childhood, little knowing that later in my life the writer in me is taking its shape. At times I thought why I could not solve problems academic as well as personal by using the same kind of thinking which we used when we created them ,as my greatest problem was what to do about all the things I couldn't do anything about. Time passed and I set sails for SJSU.On arriving here ,I realised that I had grown wings and my perception of life had changed,so had ,my line-of-thought.Earlier, it was a kind of guided writing ,but now it had turned innovative, having an original subtle learning towards 'thought p...   [tags: Self-Reflection]

A Reflection on My Writing Essay

- A Reflection on My Writing The journey through language and literature has always been an intriguing one for me. It is for this reason that I chose English as my major. It seems that every teacher or professor that I have had, has always been able to pinpoint one specific element in my writing that I need to work on. This has not been a negative thing by any stretch, because with each passing semester there is an element of my literature that will be perfected for the next.
