Polluted air, endless traffic, sidewalks completely covered with trash, homeless people all around, and construction projects in the middle of the busiest streets are some of the things that define New York, the worst place to go on vacations on earth at any time of the year. I visited New York, summer of 2013. After high school graduation, my girlfriend and I decided to travel to this place to celebrate our accomplishment. The experience, unfortunately, was dreadful and disappointing. I never imagined such nightmarish place. Regardless of what time of the day it is, New York is always infested with massive amounts of people. I definitely discourage people visiting this horrendous place. The experiences expected in this place are so disappointing. …show more content…

People are discourteous and always ready to start an argument. There are no right of the ways in the traffic, and pedestrians walk wherever they please. Considering the fact that the only effective and less stressing method of transportation is taxis makes it even worse. Depending on someone else for transportation is a potential cause for frustration. Standing on the edge of the sidewalk for a long period of time, fighting against other people to obtain a cab, it’s something undesirable. Having to deal with impolite manners is another subject to consider because for a place to go on vacations, people aren’t expecting to be treated disrespectfully. We experienced many discourteous scenarios during my staying in New York. We dined in different restaurants all the time, and every single place we had food, we experienced terrible service. One of our experiences dinning in was at the Italian restaurant, we order simple entrees and bottomless beverages, which they should be served at a table in less than an hour. Our simplest meal wasn 't served at our table until an hour and half later. On top of that, the waiter was quite upset about or expectations of the place. He couldn 't understand why we were mad about our food taking so long, after all, we were on vacations he said. Meaning we had all the time of the world to wait for our food. Even fast food prices are considerably more expensive than other places. For example, having Chipotle in Montgomery County rounds about $8 per person, while in New York the price raises to $11 per person at the same fast food restaurant. Transportation is also another expensive factor to consider when visiting New York. Taxis, trains, parking rates, and subway tickets are subjects to consider because they are more expensive than other places. On our visit to New York with my girlfriend, we had to pay many tolls on our way to the city, all together came up to $80 only on tolls. The tolls expected to pay are plenty, and most of them are not cheaper than $2.50. It is an absurd amount of money for what to expect in New York as a vacation spot. An amusing and almost unbelievable factor is parking. New York is known for its nonsense parking rates. It’s funny to believe that some of the parking lots are in alleys in between buildings, without security cameras, or any type of security officer. These improvised parking lots owners are nothing but clowns because they have the nerve to charge up to $90 per car for a maximum of 4 hours, making it very inconvenient for visitors traveling in cars. Stores in New York are full of endless lines to pay. Most of these stores raise the prices because people are crazy shopping at “The Big Apple”, where everything is about
