World War I and World War II
During the 1900’s two wars broke out among the nations, World War One and World War Two. These wars brought about famine, debt death and even freedom. Although some of the results were the same, they were fought with significant different war tactics.
World War one was caused by one major factor the Assassination of Archduke Francis Ferdinand. This happened June 28, 1914 He was the Archduke of Austria-Hungry (Hartford). While World War Two was caused by an agreement between United States, France, England, and Italy. This agreement made Germany pay for all war damage throughout the nations that World War One affected (Weapons). World War One expanded to many nations, Austria-Hungry, Russia, Germany, France, Britain, United States, and Belgium. The nations leaders allied among one another, (United States with France, Britain, Russia, Italy, and Japan, they were also known as Allied Powers. During the arrangements of the Allied Powers to ally, Germany, Austria-Hungry, and Turkey became the opposing forces known as the Central Powers (WWI and WWII).
Word War I four years, 1914 to 1918 and caused millions of deaths with the weaponry used. The military on both opposing forces doing trenches in a zig-zag patterns to keep from being shot on even terrain. These trenches were a prominent cause for the death toll of World War One to be not as high. Military personnel would bring artillery, such as: machine guns, grenades, and revolvers in the trenches, and fire them at the opposing military (Weapons). Tanks were also used to bring about destruction. In this time period Tanks had a huge contribution to World War One. They would damage anything with in a mile radius including people (Hartford...

The underlying cause of World War 1 were the alliances within Europe. An alliance meant that if one country goes to war than the country associated will also fight. All the countries were picking sides before the war started. Otto von Bismarck, the Chancellor that led the unification of the German states, did not like the fact that Germany was between Russia and France. “Bismarck formed the Triple Alliance between Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Italy in the year preceding
In 1914, with the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife from Austro-Hungarian Empire caused an enormous war called World War I, that killed and injured about thirty million lives. It also destroyed the economy later on. World War I changed combat tactics in a whole new way, where people would die in a blink of an eye. Commanders and soldiers did not know about the capabilities of their new arsenals. The new industrialized developed weapons devastated the battlefield with blood, mountain of corpses, and small craters. Some of the weapons that were used were machine guns, poison gas, mortars, and tanks. Soldiers described the battlefield as a nightmare. This was the start of a new era arising through warfare. A very dangerous way to bring great change to the world but was not intended. World War I brought great changes to the world but, considering the countless deaths, it was the worst war ever, an inhumane war.

World War one started with the assassination of the Austrian emperor's nephew, Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife, on June 18, 1914, while they were visiting Sarajevo, part of the Austria-Hungary Empire, the province of Bosnia Herzegovina. The assassination by a Serbian Nationalist caused the Austria Hungary Empire to plan to start war against Serbia. Instead of reacting quickly to the incident, Austria Hungary made sure to have a treaty with Germany. This allowed Serbia to create a treaty with Russia. Russia also had a treaty with France and Britain. Austria Hungary declared war on the July 28, 1914, over a month after the assassination. By then most of Europe was involved. The two main sides of this war were the allied forces, and the central powers. The allied forces consisted of France, UK, and Russia, and the central powers were Germany and Austria Hungary. WW1 was from 1914 to 1919, resulting in 10 million military deaths, and 20 million injured. Originally, the allied forces wanted the United States to join the war, but the US was neutral. However, two events changed this opinion. In 1915, a German U-boat sunk the British Ocean liner RMS Lusitania. This was a neutral passenger ship, and the Americans were furious when it was sunk, as 159 of the passengers were American. Also, in 1917, Mexico was sent a coded message from Germany, which was intercepted by the British and shown to the US. The message promised sections of US land in return for entering the war on the German side. On April 6, 1917, the US entered the war. Russia, during this time, was planning on getting out of the war. In 1917, a revolution happened, removing the czar from power. The new communist government wanted to focus on intern...
The Great War, fueled by the excessive pride of each country, devastated the world. Each side felt superior to the other and would not stop until it emerged as the victor. These countries altered the style of fighting from a primitive face-to-face combat to systematic style of battle through trenches. To adapt to this style, countries developed new weapons and tactics to prevail over their enemies. But, the war simply remained a draw. Trench warfare prolonged World War I by a causing a bloody stalemate where millions died from modern weapons and horrid living conditions.
...was an immediate cause of the assassination of the Archduke of Austria-Hungary let to how it was dealt with, July Crisis, in WW1. While, WW2 was caused by Germany’s government wanting to expand with their expansionist aims, and living territory for German people. Alliances in WW1 were the cause of the war because of Otto von Bismarck was getting everybody together and France isolated preventing a two-front war for Germany. On the other hand, WW2 was caused by the failure of the League of Nations and Collective Security. Back to WW1, it was also caused by imperialism and nationalism, while WW2 had appeasement of letting Germany what it wanted just to prevent another war from breaking out. In conclusion, from the points discussed and analyzed above we can conclude that both World War One and World War Two have several different causes totally unrelated to one another.

Often times the Second World War over shadows the First World War when it comes to discussing a total war because the First World War may be considered a limited war. A limited war has specific goals while a total war involves the entire nation and its destruction. An examination of pre-1914 events and events that occurred from 1914 to1918 reveal the ways in which the First World War was a total war.

World War I is known as a war that occurred on extremely cruel terms; there were not many restrictions on what and when certain weapons could be used. Unfortunately, the Industrial Age brought with it many new ways to kill; the soldiers of World War I came in contact with many new weapons that they had never seen in combat.
