In the world of quality control, it is up to each individual to do their part to make sure that we are distributing and putting the best quality parts into the vehicles that Toyota manufactures. Since the start of Toyota it has been its guiding principles of producing reliable vehicles by using its unique management philosophies and values by employing innovative and high quality products and services (Toyota, 2015). In order to produce high quality products, Toyota will need a high quality, above average, quality control department. Ensuring that these high quality standards are being met will start with the leadership of the Vice President.
After reviewing the time trend of public opinion about carmaker Toyota, it was realized that it had dropped precipitously in early 2010 following a series of quality issues and recalls (Fan, Geddes, Flory, 2013). Being appointed VP of the Quality Department brings great responsibility. The Vice President should be the one safeguarding and developing new policies and procedures to ensure that department objectives are met. Ensuring that these policies and procedures are followed will start with the Vice President working with his team of directors and managers to ensure that all inspectors are working towards meeting department objectives in their everyday work activities.
When dealing with quality control, it is up to the entire company to work together to maintain a high level of quality in our products by planning and using the proper equipment along with inspecting the product and making sure that when problems arise they are corrected immediately.
