We are now living in the time of the Millennial, also known as Generation Y. This diverse group of young people born between the 1980s and the mid-2000s make up over a third of the United States population, making it the largest generation in the U.S. The term ‘Millennial’ has been popularized by historians Neil Howe and William Strauss, who outlined a theory of social generations in American history (citation). Being a part of this group has given me a great insight of how the world has changed both good and bad. Our numbers may be large, however that is not the only significance of our generation. We are still young, thirty-four years old and younger, yet we have been through more than most such as; the economic collapse of 2008, the spike in unemployment between 2007 and 2009, the advancement in medicine and technology.
One of the biggest milestones that the Millennials had to overcome was the economic collapse of 2007, at this time the oldest Millennial was just 27 years-old when the recession began. Unemployment jumped to an all-time high and was very difficult to find work in the labor market. More and more people made the decision to attend college and further their career so they would no longer have to worry about not being able to make ends meet. Most young adults tend to focus solely on school rather than trying to balance both school and work. Focusing just on their studies allows students to invest more time building skills to help further them for their future. Entering the work force after schooling allows for a better work ethic and time management skills.
Millennials are the generation that will change the world as we know it, shaping our economy for years to come. No one understands this more than our Presiden...

The Millennial era has seen many vital changes in just its 2 short decades of being around: from moving methods for conveying and utilizing innovations in technology, their schooling and profession decisions, and many more. These new advancements have kick started much debate on how everything that they have already been through will affect them later on in life. The emphasis that the millennials put on being more of an out of the box thinker, innovators, and social/economical tycoons can bring about change to the conventional way how the financial world is run along with the labor market. For example, with the correct use of social media they can market to a lot larger crowd making their job easier for getting your foot in the door. We are taking new and innovate steps in talking with completing their degree and taking a different approach in their work ethic.
