List 6 Workshop Session Topics
Autism and Pervasive Developmental Disorders and the Implications of Play
Rationale:
A child experiencing autism always gets challenged in the social life of play with his/her friends. For a developing child, it is important to equally socialize the same way as other students. The inclusion of this topic in the workshop session will give the practitioners a basic knowledge and understanding of techniques and strategies to support a child in participation during free play (Shannon, 2011).
Materials and procedures:
All the practitioners will get involved in group discussions and plays that they can easily engage in when they get back to assisting different individual children with the same problems.
Inspiring Space and Environment
Rationale:
The basic objective of this study is to discuss the ideas that the practitioners can use to give inspiration to children through the environment and in turn increasing their curiosity to know and learn more pertaining to nature.
Materials and Procedures:
The practitioners will get involved into the discussions of whatever is required in order to assist children in gaining interest in Mother Nature. Alternatively, there will be samples of pictures and creative arts on how the internal and external environment of children should appear.
Anger Coping and Social Skills
Rationale:
In order to enhance anger coping and social skills for children in the pre-school setting, this topic will be of great importance in providing the practitioners with the tools and strategies of handling such a situation. Apart from supporting the children with deficits, it will enhance their skills and abilities to socially interact with each other (Larson & Lochman, 2011).
