In ergonomics, the major concept is the relationship between people, their work and the things they use at their places of work. The relationship and the manner in which these factors depend on each other influence their operations and efficiency. This means that good and well-established relationships enhance the efficiency by increasing speed and making quality of the final result better. Poor relationships between workers and the environment cause the quality of activities to drop and errors may also be experienced in the long run (Shaver and Braun 3). The negative attributes that hinder the development of quality outcomes should therefore be addressed in order to prevent errors that may severely affect the progress of an organization.
The concept of ergonomics can be applied in an organization dealing with shares and stocks. The stock broker’s office defines a good environment according to the ergonometric theories. This is because it is within the office that all operations are carried out and all other objects needed for the brokerage activities. The working environment provides immense contribution to the performance of employees (Rooney, Heuvel and Lorenzo 4). Taking the specifications of the stock broker’s office, the conditions can be described as generally bad for the employees. Firstly, the office is situated in noisy environment, with noises going as up as 85 decibels. This is too much noise for an office and other than polluting the office environment, the noise also makes conversations difficult.
The environment is also hot and this makes the workers to be uncomfortable and due to the heat, there are increased chances of tire and heat-induced stress (Anzi 40). Extended heat stress causes weariness and this may af...

Proper ergonomic conditions prevent injuries to workers and allow them to work efficiently. Ergonomics reduces costs. Workers that do not have a good ergonomic workspace can suffer from pain and uncomfortable posture which is dealt with money spent on treatment. In Canada $800 000 000 per year goes to ergonomic related injuries. Appropriate ergonomic workspaces create an anti-injury space for workers. Ergonomics also increases worker’s productivity by designing a work place with good posture, good heights, fewer motions, and less exertion. Thus making the workspace more efficient for the worker. Ergonomics also

Temperature can make a difference on employee safety as well. Studies have proven accident rates are lower when temperatures are maintained between 68 to 70 degrees (Schultz & Schultz, 2016). When cooler or warmer, accidents increase, workers become more careless when discomfort from high temperatures. Age and temperature combined can affect the productivity of workers; younger employees are not as affected by high heat, where older workers are affected by extreme climate and temperature changes (Schultz & Schultz,

In the workplace, stress can have some strong physical and mental effects on employees. To best understand stress, it is first important to define it. Stress is defined as “a feeling of tension that occurs when a person perceives that a given situation is about to exceed one’s ability to cope and consequently could endanger one’s well being” (Hitt, Miller & Colella, 2011). Stress on the job is usually the result of people feeling inadequate and unable to perform the given duties of a position at a high level. This could be the result of not having the tools necessary to complete the work or having an outside need that is unable to be met while performing duties. Today, we’ll examine different types of stress and the effects that stress can have on individuals and the workplace.
Stress is a problem not only for employees but the organization as well. In further studies, U.Treven, S.Treven and Zizek (2011) stated, “Stress at work can be a real problem to the organization as well as its workers” (p.46). If an employee is under stress his/her ability to work productively decreases. The consequences that occur from not meeting company standards increase the stress and pressure already existing with the employee. In related to health, statistics shows that 50 to 70% of diseases found in today’s economy are stress
What is ergonomics? Ergonomics is the science of fitting the job to the worker. When there is a mismatch between the physical requirements of the job and the physical capacity of the worker, work-related musculoskeletal disorders can result. Workers who must repeat the same motion throughout their workday, work in an awkward position use a great deal of force to perform, repeatedly lift heavy objects or face a combination of these risk factors are most likely to develop work-related musculoskeletal disorders.
Today work environment company are expecting very high demand from manager and workers that they over sea about job performance to keep than motivated to do they tasks. First the manager has to meet executive level manager’s goals and productivity to keep a companies success. The test book reading stated Organization is people working together to achieve a common goals, that goals also can evaluate the issues about the absenteeism in the workforce. Manager are govern by four functions to keep a business delay functions work first Planning setting performance, second Organization to process assigning tasks, third Leading to process a arousing environment by inspiring others, four controlling to process of measuring work performance.

Employee rights are very important in the workplace (Rakoczy, C. n.d.). There are some laws to protect employee rights such as safe working environment, discrimination and overtime pay rate to ensure every employee treated fairly. All employees have the right to work in a safe and healthy workplace. In some industries, they use the high-voltage of electricity, extreme temperature, the high-speed and noisy machine in their workplace which can potentially threat to employee health and safety. A safety and healthy workplace must provide reasonable daily and weekly job schedule to the employees. Therefore, when the employee follows the job schedule, they can prevent to work overload because of a systematic system applied by the company.
Human beings are at times lazy, they always look for the easy way to everything, so they use shortcuts in all parts of their life including their professional one. But, when employees take shortcuts while accomplishing their tasks, especially when working with chemicals or complex machinery, often they put themselves at risk of being injured or dying. Further, a worker’s personal and professional life are linked, so if he or she is stressed, it might affect their ability to concentrate, which causes
This study aims to increase understanding of factors that influence employees’ reactions in the workplace. The relationship between conflict among employees, the perception of organizational politics, conflict or ambiguity of workplace roles and several other work outcomes was explored by studying 11 research articles to investigate individual and organizational effects of workplace attitudes and behaviors. Employees need to work together toward common goals in order for an organization to function well but there are many roadblocks hindering the process. Results demonstrated a clear relationship between stressors and behaviors.
In Today’s world, the composition and how work is done has massively changed and is still continuing to change. Work is now more complex, more team base, depends greatly on technological and social skills and lastly more mobile and does not depend on geography. Companies are also opting for ways to help their employees perform their duties effectively so that huge profits are realized in the long term .The changes in the workplaces include Reduction in the structure of the hierarchy ,breakdown in the organization boundaries , improved and better management tactics and perspectives and lastly better workplace condition and health to the employees. (Frank Ackerman, Neva R. Goodwin, Laurie Dougherty, Kevin Gallagher, 2001)
To excel in the workplace, the expectations of an employee include more than what they do physically. They also include the mental and social aspects, particularly if that employee is expected to work with a diverse set of individuals to complete certain tasks. After all, all types of people seek out employment and discrimination in the workplace is unacceptable since all people deserve a chance to work for a living. Each individual has the responsibility to not only be able to work with others, but to make working with each other a pleasant experience so as to make teamwork and communication easier. With all parts of a company working smoothly, the success of the overall company is assured.
... The use of work sampling can supplement the use of time studies and save time and resources. Human factors have had a tremendous influence on work design. Ergonomics plays a major role in the ways industrial engineers design the work to fit the human operators. In doing so, they can elevate the worker’s well-being and the entire system performance. A time study is still a useful tool with the goal of increasing efficiency that should include the additional objective of providing a safe and healthy work environment. (Muchinsky 2009)
