Wind is a form of solar energy. The term wind energy describes the process by which the wind is used to generate electricity or mechanical power. Wind turbines convert mechanical energy from the wind into electrical power. Wind turbines usually have three main parts. There are blades that connect to a central hub, a box behind the blades that contains the generator, and a long stem that connects to the ground. The way how it works is that the wind turns the blades, which spins a shaft that connects to a generator making electricity. After the electricity is produced it is sent through transmission lines to a substation that is sent to business and homes. For the sake of our planet, we must promote a renewable energy economy. Wind power can be a foundation of that sustainable energy future because it provides jobs in states that are building wind turbines, is a renewable energy source, and does not damage our environment. The environment will not be damaged by the pollution, the natural resources will not be used up, and there won’t be generating of hazardous wastes. Welcoming wind energy today will lay the foundation for a healthy tomorrow that will affect everyone in the United States. There are obstacles and challenges that will make it more difficult, but the environmental impact is well worth it to invest more money into wind energy.
As the wind energy industry continues to grow, it will provide many job opportunities for workers and job seekers. These careers will extend beyond just the wind farm. To build and operate a wind turbine, it will take the efforts of many workers. The workers will be in factories and offices. There are construction employees, electricians, engineers, operators, gearbox makers and bla...

But it will benefit certain areas more than others because there are more winds flowing in a certain area. Places where there are more land will be perfect to build these wind turbines because it will generate huge amounts of electricity that can power many buildings. The area of location should be chosen with utmost care where there is an abundance of wind that in consistent. Since wind energy is a renewable technology that does not contribute to global warming, thus it will make a better and healthier

choice that does not have a huge impact on our physical environment. Having a wind generator to use wind electricity can be cool depending on a person’s preference and is a strong statement of someone’s values and thinking.

Essay about Wind Power And Solar Energy

- Wind is a form of solar energy that can be used to do work. The wind turbine is the actual device that is used to make electricity. Wind turbine looks like a fan, but don’t be fooled because it doesn’t work like a fan. Wind turbine uses wind to make electricity while a fan has a cord that needs to be plugged into an outlet to create electricity, so don’t mistake them for the same thing. Turbines can be used to make the majority of our electricity. The wind turns the three blades, next spins the shaft that connects to a generator to create what we see as electricity that can be used immediately or store for later use....   [tags: Renewable energy, Wind power, Fossil fuel]

Energy Sources For Renewable Energy Essay

- Renewable energy sources have been found to cost more than the benefits that are received from the energy sources. There are many different resources that you can use including water, wind, solar, geothermal, and biomass. These energy sources can differ in cost depending on capital, fuel, and operations and maintenance. Some of these sources are not cheap to build but once they are up and running, they have no fuel cost. There are many reasons to determine when, where, or how an energy source is used....   [tags: Wind power, Renewable energy, Solar energy]

Solar And Wind Energy : Solar Energy Essay

- ... This can be done by figuring out the production of each solar, wind, and the electrical grid with their respective costs, benefits, and disadvantages, then we decide which option (using solar and wind energy while disconnecting or remain connected to the electrical grid) is best for each of the perspective’s point of view. I believe this question is important as to see which option best satisfies all of the four perspectives. The option of ‘grid defection’ is the notion that we should abandon the electrical gird, and depend on locally generated electricity using solar panels and wind turbines....   [tags: Wind power, Renewable energy, Fossil fuel]
