William Shakespeare was born on April 23, 1564 in Stratford-upon-Avon, United Kingdom. In a short six months their first child Susanna was born. She was baptized on May 26th in Stratford parish church. After two years of Susanna being the only child, Hamnet and Judith were born. In London, he started his career. Slowly starting as an actor, writer, and also being a part owner of a playing company. The company was called the Chamberlain’s Men. Between 1589 and 1613 Shakespeare produced almost all of his works. His early plays consisted of comedies and histories. Later on he mainly wrote tragedies up to 1608. His plays were known to be in four categories, which were comedies, tragedies, histories, and the romances. Not only is Shakespeare known for writing plays, but also writing poems. Shakespeare’s life was quite short for many of our opinions, but throughout it he was able to make the most of it and I believe that is one of the many reasons that we still consider him “famous”.
