The English Resistance was a time period in which greater plays, sonnets, and writer became famous. William Shakespeare was the most famous writer to come out of this time period and is the best english writer of all time. Known for the creative use of words, he wrote thirty-seven plays and one hundred fifty-four sonnets. He even invented new words, if there were no words in the english language that truly expressed what he wanted. Shakespeare has common characteristics and attributes that he exhibits in his writing; influences by society and family member also affected his writing as well.

One of them is that the heros are usually not the first character that is seen in the first play. Normally in his plays, Shakespeare focuses on side character first and let them talk about the main character before introducing them to us. He does this to describe the character. Most of Shakespeare 's main male character are all virtuous and strong; they have a few flaws, while the female leads are usually petite and delicate. Character 's names usually indicate characters traits, personalities, and what might happen to them. The Character named Nick Bottom in A Midsummer Night 's Dream is a character that believes he is great at everything, in reality he is not really good at anything that he does, and ends up making a fool of himself. Also, in the play, “Bottom’s head is transforms into the head of an donkey. Another good example is Malvolio from Twelfth Night. Malvolio is the main villain from Twelfth Night. He is a puritan and hates all fun and games. His name which means ill will in latin hints to us that he would might be an antagonist.

The plots in Shakespeare 's comedies have similar concepts that they all flow. One thing that they have in common is that they are usually hard to follow. This is because when Shakespeare writes the comedies, he assumes that the audience already knows the plot to it. Shakespeare 's plays often include love in some major way. In some plays love can even be the themes of his plays, teaching us that love has a strong effect on people. In A Midsummer Night’s Dream, the main conflict in this play is about how the two lead male characters fell in love with the same girl, how fairs make the conflict worse overall. Shakespeare makes use of love to create great comedical effects in the play to make an interesting. Shakespeare also use Romance in Romeo and Juliet too, but, in this play, he use it to cause the serious source of conflict. He uses the ”star-crossed” lovers concept to make the protagonist fall in love with each other, even though they knew that they could never be together. In the end, every important character kills themselves because they cannot live without their lover. He teaches us that true love s just as dangerous as it is
