At first, Love is often described as a powerful force, something that can create great emotion in the lover, Love can be the greatest feeling in the universe, but it can also be totally devastating when it doesn’t work out. We might be inclined to think that there’s a significant aspect of irrationality to love. But we should be cautious here, as love can have reasons too. For example, you could list off a bunch of reasons for your love: your partner is friendly, intelligent, funny, and has many positive sides. But if you loved someone who was mean, unintelligent, and boring, that would be irrational. Many of us have great reasons for loving who we beloved, which shows that sometimes love is in fact just rational.

The notion behind loving someone is simply a very complicated and esoteric in nature. People often describe a certain chemistry, as in a certain attraction, needed between two individuals who are in love but Barbara Fredrickson is able to coordinate the definition of love on the basis of chemicals. Barbara Fredrickson is able to provide the definition of love on the deductive reasoning based on chemistry, biology, and neurology explained in Love 2.0: How our Supreme Emotion Affects Everything we Feel, Think, Do, and Become. As Barbara explains "With each micro-moment of love, then, you climb another rung on the spiraling ladder that lifts you up to your higher ground, to richer and more compassionate social relationships, to greater resilience
Love is one of life's great mysteries. People live and build their lives around love. For many people, love, or the quest to find love, is a reason to get out of bed in the morning. Love is arguably the most overwhelming of all emotions. Many ideals and religions consider the bond of love sacred. But, why do people fall in love? Love is a strong affection for another individual based on personal ties according to the Merriam-Webster dictionary. Love has mean definitions throughout the world we live in today. In some cultures, love has been defined as the sexual devotion of a mother for her child and in other cultures the essence of love was the chaste devotion of a knight for another man’s wife(pg520). Although love has many definitions and interpretations it can be looked at in two perspectives. One perspective which is rooted in practical help and affection. Also, another perspective that only focuses on affection. In the perspective which practical help and some affection shows love for a person the individuals have to be in a mutually beneficial relationship were
The article Falling in Love consisted of vital information about love and relationships. The article states that the falling in love experience is not real love for three reasons. The first reason is falling in love in not an act of the will or a conscious choice. Second, falling in love is not real love because it is effortless. And third, one who is “in love” is not genuinely interested in fostering the personal growth of the other person.
Romantic relationships are interpersonal attractions between two people. Attraction can be one of two things, liking someone or loving someone. “Love” is a word that is thrown around like a football. It seems like everyone either loves or hates each other these days. The love I am referring to is the physical/romantic love one feels with their intimate partner. There are a plethora of theories regarding interpersonal attraction, yet there are different phases of love. The three phases of a loving romantic relationship are typically: Meeting your partner for the first time, the dating stage, and marriage and beyond.
The results are in and it doesn’t look good. An estimated eighty-five percent of relationships fail within the first year, with many of them not even making it six months. Finding love has turned into reality episodes of fast relationships and serial dating; leaving broken hearts, shattered dreams, and bitter feelings in its wake.
Love is something that many people hope for in life, and is universal. Although love is a general term, there are several types of love, which are different in their own way. When most people define love in literature they often think of romance or a “Romeo and Juliet” type of love. Some may even think of an intimacy type of love, which can also be recognized as lust, or a sexual desire. Although these are most commonly known in literature, you have to go even deeper to know the other parts forms of love such as a friendship or family type of love, or a desirable love for something you want or admire. Love can often get complicated, or secret and hidden. For example, when you have a crush, you may have feelings and
Love and infatuation are both strong emotions that most will encounter within their lifetime. The two feelings are often misunderstood, but are differentiated through their outcomes and stability. True love does not only rely on physical attraction, but also on one’s personality. When one is truly in love, they accept their partner’s flaws and perfections. There is a connection between two people, in which they can make compromises and smart decisions. The love grows stronger with time and is not instant. On the other hand, infatuation occurs almost instantaneously and progresses quickly. Infatuation relies on lust and physical attraction. It can cause an individual to
Few people ever fall in love, and even fewer people remember when they did. I am not one of these people. The first time I fell in love was when I was 5 years old and my dad gave me my first ever baseball. I can still remember running my fingers against the seams and gripping the ball in a multitude of ways, imagining I was Nolan Ryan trying to select which pitch I would throw.
Is it a chemical cocktail of hormones going crazing within our bodies? Is it some godly force that leads us to “the one” or is it for survival? “If love does possesses "a nature" which is identifiable by some means-a personal expression, a discernible pattern of behavior, or other activity, it can still be asked whether that nature can be properly understood by humanity (Moseley 2).” There is still a lot we do not know about love. I personal believe that people fall in love for all sorts of reasons. Love can occur when an individual sees godly qualities in a person like Plato. Love can come out of the need to no to be alone and survive with a partner at your back or maybe you see yourself in the person you love. There are many reasons to fall in love, but falling in love happens between two people. Two people build a relationship, two people set up the rules of that relationship and if that relationship progresses to true love then it is up to the two to pursue their beautiful goal
Love can make you do anything and sacrifice for what will be better in the end. Love is intense and passionate. Everything seems brighter, happier, more wonderful, and just all around better when you’re in love. If you find love, cherish it and don’t let it go. Love frees us all from all the weight and pain of
I disagree and would argue that being in love and loving someone has two very different meanings. The word love is used too loosely. Loving someone and being in love with someone are two very different things. Although I am not a love master, being only 19 years old and in two serious relationships in my life, I have come to realize being in love is something special. I believe when you are in love it’s not a choice, that person is picked for you. You are addicted to them, you want all your friends and family to love them as much as you do, you are there when they succeed and there when they fail, you miss them every minute you are apart and you unconditionally love them, even when times get hard.
“Love is universally accepted by many people and the concept of love within the English language refers to a variety of different approaches, states and attitudes, ranging from pleasure to interpersonal attraction.” (Kendrick 123) My characterization of love encourages the intimate emotion I partake for my family. The distinct connection that we fashioned and the invaluable moments that we consolidated. In the perceptive of a mother, my children are my supremacy and the greatest blessing of my lifecycle. They’re my inspiration and motivation to continue progressing and becoming the best at what I do. With that in mind, Love relics your outlooks and approaches the linkage they become associated with. Consequently, this condition can fluctuate over a period of a specific time. Additionally, depending on your situation, your perspective on love can be an altering affect, creating a stable or inconsistent assessment. Furthermore, causing your love to intensify, decline, or even cease. Love in its essence, stands justly powerful and the beauty of it advances,
“A Love like that was a serious illness, an illness form which you can never entirely recover” said Charles Bukowski ,a German born poet. Love can exist in many forms; however, there is one manifestation of love that seems to have fascinated humanity since the dawn of history. This is the love that two people share when they “fall in love”- the love that is now more frequently described as passionate or romantic love. In this sense, love has a special place in human affair. It has always been a universal preoccupation. It may be that lovers’ madness is part of the human condition. The connection between love and states of illness and madness has existed since antiquity. In fact, love is an illness that leads to many psychological and physical disorders.
What is love? Love is a very special and meaningful word to each human being. Each human being has his/her own thoughts about love to guide himself/herself to land safely and smoothly into the kingdom of Love. Without this preconceived idea of love, people would be acting like a blind person searching for the light with thousand of obstacles in front of him.
