Prices on many items that everyday citizens need daily have increased over the years. According to Joseph B. White’s Wall Street Journal article, “Why the Gasoline Engine Isn’t Going Away Any Time Soon”, the increase in oil prices has “accomplished what years of pleas from environmentalists and energy-security hawks could not: forcing the world 's major auto makers to refocus their engineers and their capital on devising mass-market alternatives to century-old petroleum-fueled engine technology”. I agree with him on this. Today most automobile run on gasoline powered engines but it is going to take some time for auto makers to make a transition to cars that use alternative fuels. Over the years we see have seen the gradual improvements to automobiles, as technology has advanced. Most cars now have cd and/or dvd players, automatic locks and window, air conditioning, keyless entry and some have gps systems, satellite radios, key that does not go into the ignition, and heated seats.
