IntroductionPaul Revere is known history as a national “folk hero”. Revere is very much known to people for his famous ride to Lexington in 1775. His life was filled with an involvement in politics, industry, and community service (The Paul Revere House). Paul revere founded the patriot intelligence network on record, which is a boston bases group known as the “mechanics,” according to the Central Intelligence Agency (Paul Revere: A Brief Biography 2013). Revere was a veteran of the French and Indian war and led anti-British agitation after the Stamp Act passed in 1765. Fame Revere was not famous during his lifetime. It was not until 1861, when Henry Wadsworth Longfellow wrote the poem “Paul Revere’s Ride”, before the Midnight Ride and his life story became famous (Paul Revere: A Brief Biography 2013). The poem written by Longfellow, had a lot of inaccurate information, it stated that Paul Revere was the alone on his mission to warn Samuel Adams and John Hancock ant the patriots regarding the British were approaching Lexington, which he was not. Longfellow fails to mention the two other men, Samuel Prescott and William Dawes, who rode alongside Paul Revere. Paul Revere’s great ride through the night to save the americans from the huge british force was a big piece of American history during that time. Many have written about Paul Revere but longfellow doesn't tell the whole story. Longfellow's poem doesn't tell the whole story but Paul’s letter does.
The book began with Paul Revere’s America. Paul Revere’s real name was Apollos Riviore. Paul Reveres name was later changed because of it being too hard to pronounce. He was born on the small island of Guernsey in the English channels but at age 12, he sailed to Boston on November 15, 1715. By 1722, he was a goldsmith in Boston. In 1729, Paul Revere married a named Deborah Hitchborn. He worked as an artisan and a silversmith. During this time, he was known to have amazing skills in both jobs. One of Paul Revere’s best designs was his print of the Boston Massacre in 1770. It helped to create an image of British tyranny and American virtue that still shapes memory of the massacre.

On April 19th, 1775 British troops marched to Lexington and Concord, where many militia men already awaited their arrival. The British were after the ammunition of the militia. Paul Revere previously warned the militia so that they could be prepared. Many people are unaware of the fact that Paul Revere was accompanied by William Dawes on his midnight ride.
The Sons of Liberty was a group of men fighting for their independence. They were fighting before the continental congress or the beginning of the Revolutionary War. They were called out as being disobedient. They were believed to be political radicals at the time; doing what they felt was right for their town and their colonies. The Sons of Liberty were everyday men that expanded from New England all the way down the thirteen colonies. However, the high activity political gang started to appear with aggressiveness in Boston, Massachusetts. This paper will demonstrate the origins of the Sons of Liberty in Boston, their manifest, leading actions, and development within their first year.
The American Revolution was a tough time for America and the people who fought it. Many wars were fought and many people died, but throughout the whole events moments of inspiration were evident. One such time was in the Battle of Lexington which took place on April 19th, 1775 and one such poem the truly reflects it is called The Battle of Lexington which was written by Sidney Lanier. The poem reflects the thoughts of this man and Paul Revere during this time.

This is a controversial book that is well worth the read. The author comes at his subject from outside academe, albeit with impeccable credentials. Although he has authored nine books, has served as Director of the National Park Service and Director of the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of American History, and was once a White House correspondent for NBC, his approach remains outside the mainstream of history or journalism. To begin, it is refreshingly place-oriented and rich with detail of physical surroundings and personal relationships involving the nation's founders. The work is less successful in terms of the context of time. Roger Kennedy's study is not presented in strict chronological narrative, because it is a study in "character." Its analytical framework, however, is too value-laden, sometimes obscuring the political and social context of early nineteenth-century America. Kennedy sets up his straw men to praise and destroy, which is an easy feat from the vantage point of twenty-first-century morality.
The Revolutionary war had many political writers; who tried to encourage change through their writing. One of the successful writers was Thomas Paine. Paine was a one of the most famous propagandist at the time. He wrote pamphlets to persuade soldiers and others to participate in the fight for freedom. His writing in “The Crisis 1” is very influential and plays a role in the history of the Revolution. The Crisis 1 was said to have been written during General Washington’s retreat across the Delaware, and was read to soldiers who were suffering and had low spirits. Thomas Paine’s writing is said to have inspired courage among the soldiers which led to victory.

Thomas Paine is undoubtedly one of the most prolific founding fathers of the United States, albeit not in the manner most would expect from a founding father. Paine was not a drafter of the constitution, nor was he an early member of Congress or President of the United States. However, Paine did have a profound impact on society, not only in America, but also abroad. Often remembered for helping spur the American Revolution, yet not as often remembered for the other revolution in France. Two of the more famous writings from Paine are, of course, Common Sense and The Rights of Man, both of which were written during revolutionary times in separate countries. It goes without saying that when a revolution is taking place there will be many on both sides of the war; in both of these instances, Paine was the voice of the people and stood up for what was right regardless of the consequences. I posit Thomas Paine was the most influential man for revolution in America and France despite fear of backlash or imprisonment. In fact, near the end of his life Paine was not only imprisoned, but somehow evaded being beheaded as well. Thomas Paine was even more influential as a result of his extreme lack of self-interest and ability to stay true to the cause of his writings rather than wither away in fear.

The reason for my decision is because unlike Paul Revere Captain Thomas Preston portrays a very detailed story on the events that occurred that day. He also admits to being at fault for some of the retched things that have occurred that day. While on the other hand Paul Revere was very one sided and only tried to portray the troops as bad men. Captain Thomas Preston even though only captain for the day, he made a difference in history.
