Thesis: Why people usually don’t get away with plagiarism.

Why do people plagiarise? People plagiarise on accident a decent percent of the time. Since people usually students assume that some sites online such as Wikipedia are alright to not cite since there are no official authors and it’s a free website. Other times it’s because since it was on a certain site so it was considered common knowledge and they didn’t cite it. Other times people plagiarise since they don’t want to write or write about the subject they are writing about. Since after all, Classes usually make students write about the topic they are learning and give them little to no say on what to write so they usually get topic they don’t enjoy. There exists people who claim that anti-plagiarism systems violate their rights. After all, Some students feel that systems that require their work to be run through a plagiarism detection site before it is graded a violation of their right to submit whatever they want. And some sites such as turnitin.com take the digital fingerprints of the work that have been run through its software and some people feel that they basically steal their work and make profits of them. Plagiarising lets people make equal quality work while using less effort, but more of others effort thus undermining the works that the work used and the work produced. The works used are undermined since their rarity is lower after all, why pick only one certain book out of the tens of hundreds when one can grab a different author 's book that is probably more popular, after all it is the same genre so one is more likely to get a different book. Since the plagiarising author will get punished for plagiarising and the fact that he got punished for plagiarising will be made public exposing the fact that he plagiarised thus making people wary of his works. Anti-plagiarism systems prevent people from improving the works of the past in order to create better works. Some of the most famous works come from works of the past, the lord of the rings movies came from the lord of the rings books and the hobbit movies came from the hobbit book. And some of the most important inventions came from the past, such as the first car came from the work of the person who made the steam engine and the Europeans used paper from the Asians to make the printing
