Why Should Tobacco Should Be Banned?

The world is frequently forgetting of how bad tobacco can be. It kills six million people every year and that number will grow killing more people than heroin, cocaine and other illegal drugs. (Newman, 2009). As you ,legislators ,must know the main factor is a stimulant called nicotine, but there are 4,000 other chemicals in it ,and 2,000 of those are poisonous.(Government of Saskatchewan, n.d.). If you know that tobacco is harmful why not make a law to prohibit and make it illegal. Therefore, tobacco is a harmful substance and should be banned.

To begin with, most smokers do not like their habit. Smoking is not a recreational drug but it is an addiction. Smokers do not like what they do and wish to quit. As a matter of fact, 35 million people make a serious attempt to quit each year. Unfortunately, most who try to quit by themselves regress within a week.(National Institute of Drug Abuse, n.d.). Smoking is not a recreational drug ,but it is more addictive than any illegal one. About only 10 to 15 percent of people who drink are alcoholics and 80 to 90 percent of smokers are addcits. An influential Canadian executive states, smoking is not like drinking it is rather being like an alcoholic. The use of tobacco is more obsessive than marijuana because of the chemicals it has. THC , the main chemical in marijuana , represents an already existing chemical in the brain that sticks with the receiver of the drug. Unlike tobacco, it is easier not depend on THC. (Campbell, 2014).This shows how cigarettes are very different from alcohol and marijuana expressing how hard it is to get rid of the habit. Smoking is a bad environment to be around. (Proctor, 2013). They need to smoke nicotine in order to feel "normal" every day and to control their moods and satisfy their cravings ("Tobacco Banning," n.d.). Life does not need tobacco to depend on; nonetheless it brings many problems to people around the world. Save lives, outlaw tobacco.

Tobacco has a huge impact on the world. It affects people of various ages, including teens and adults tenting them to try something new and then creating hazardous consequences. To end the harm that tobacco does, you should make the growing and selling of tobacco illegal, impose fines to people that still buy and use tobacco and send to jail anyone that produces tobacco. Save laws, outlaw tobacco.
