Most teenagers like to have fun; they think about how they can spend more time with friends. When I was only fifteen years old, I had to make a very difficult decision that took me away from my friends. I moved from the British Virgin Islands, where I was born and raised, to the United States of America in order to use basketball to further my education. This was a very risky decision because I did not know if I would lose friends in progress. But I knew that I would not only get a good education and become a better basketball player, but I would also become a better person. School in the BVI is different from high school in the USA. A SWOT I have for myself is that I have great courage which allows me to move out from my house in the Virgin Islands on my own to attend college. Also I have good critical and analytical skills which helped me obtain an associate degree while attending Delaware Technical Community College. Thirdly, I have good communication skills which allows me to complete all the easy assignments and when I’m stuck, I’ll ask my teacher a reasonable question on the homework on how to get the answers. Then I’ll show my classmates the right way to get the answers. I have some noticeable weakness which are procrastination while I 'm going my homework. I always get distracted and end up doing my Homework last minute. I also have low confidence. When I take tests, I always second guess my answers. I also second guess the things I say when my teacher ask me questions. Thirdly, I suffer from anxiety attacks which lead to the lack of public speaking skills. There are certainly some opportunities. I have accepted an academic scholarship from Goldey-Beacom. I think this will help me pay for my tuition and saves my money.
