1. When meeting someone for the first time, you can make a good impression by talking about weather, like how it is in Singapore compared to where you live. You can also make a good conversation with someone in Singapore by talking about the settings and circumstances in other places. Singaporeans are proud of their separation from Malaysia, talking about it as well may also be a good idea. If you want to make a good impression, then you’ve to know what you don’t say when meeting Singaporeans. With saying Singaporeans are very proud of their independence from Malaysia, know that Singaporeans don’t like Singapore being known as a third world country. Something to also avoid talking about is about all the freedoms there are in “the American west” oppose to the limited freedom they have in Singapore, apparently they’ve had enough of it.

2. Eye contact and distance you have between a person don’t really matter when it comes to nonverbal communications. It is not common to touch when greeting, as well as kissing, hugging, slapping on the back, except for the first shake of hands, till you become good friends.
