Almost every child growing up in the United States is faced with the question of what they want to become when they get older. As i grew older, the answer to this question changed overtime but eventually settled on one major, Mechanical Engineering.
To begin, one of the most influential reason as to why I would want to become a Mechanical Engineer is something that I more discovered about myself versus observing myself. Throughout my years of playing video games and taking particular classes in school, i found myself taking a particular interest wanting to know how and why things worked. It was a spark i couldn 't just simply ignore and after some time it appeared as i had a general better understand of aspect of how something worked then the

One question that i get asked alot after i tell people my dream job is “Are you good at that stuff?”, this stuff their referring too is math and problem solving skills. Those two reasons are the reason why I know I am in the right spot. These two abilities came naturally to me, when i was younger and faced with a problem i always had this “help myself” type of attitude. If i had a problem, i had to fix it, otherwise it didn 't get done. The math came easy through the problem solving skill, it 's virtually the same thing. Although, another reason why I know I choose the right major is, when growing up, i always noticed what felt like a gravitational pull towards seeking more knowledge, specifically how and why. How and why everything and anything worked, “Why is it when i press this button, the light turn on”, “How can i talk to somebody miles away with this object we call a “Cellphone””. This curiosity attitude given to me confirmed what i basically already knew, when i grow up i want to design these pieces of technology. What also made me attracted to becoming a mechanical engineer is …show more content…
How happy and excited i would be to finally understand how many pieces of technology work and designing new pieces of technology, but everything look at as a kid always ignores the downside. Such downside for mechanical engineer is the licensing and legal issues regarding it. Some things you design, people 's lives might depend on, if you make a error it could result in the death of a person, if not many multiple. This requires certain standard that your work needs to be put through that is normally very rigorous and strenuous for the engineer. Another downside, although in relationship to other engineer fields only, is the low salary. Mechanical Engineering is on the lower side versus Electrical Engineering which is around 15% more and Petroleum Engineering which is almost 50% more on
My preferred major is mechanical engineering. Mechanical engineering is the broadest engineering field, involving the design of mechanical systems. These systems are used in a multitude of different fields such as manufacturing, aeronautics, nanotechnology, nuclear power production, heating and cooling. A primary focus is on thermodynamics, structural analysis, materials science, and kinematics.
At some point in your life you will have to start thinking about what career path you will major in. There are many career paths but it ultimately depends on what you are interested in and what you like to do. For example, if you like cars, then you can go to school to major in automotive engineering. Depending on what you want to do will also, determine how much money you will make for this field. You also, want to make sure that this is
According to dictionary.com,” Mechanical Engineering is the branch of engineering dealing with the design, construction, and use of machines.” Their job is to take an idea and actually make it happen. Doing this takes a lot of knowledge and skills. They first start off with an idea that they have. Then they try to make a small module of it. They do this so they know what the product will work without spending a lot of money on it. They have to find the right materials to do this. The materials have to be able to withstand a lot of things nature has to throw at it. Like rain, dust, lightening, and many more things. After they have to make sure the produce is safe. When all of this is done they build the real thing.
My career goal is to become an Auto Mechanic and Shop Owner. Being an Auto Mechanic intends to have a variety of skills such as: having knowledge on a variety of knowledge with different car companies, the ability to diagnose the problem quickly and repair it fast and to perfection. They also have to have knowledge on every car part and currently be great with electronics. A shop owner has to be good with business, numbers, customer relationships, have the knowledge of an Auto Mechanic. The talents that I have to become an Auto Mechanic and a shop owner are that I have basic knowledge on cars, their parts, where to get cheap parts, good speaking skills. I’m beginning to be able to do a diagnosis on a car, I’m also good at electronics. I also have a few mentors helping me out.
Engineering has been a key interest of mine since childhood. While still in grade school I enjoyed listening to my father, an electrical engineer, teach me about advances in technology, and was always eager to hear more. I was introduced to my first computer at the age of five, and have loved interacting with them ever since. My decision to study engineering as a career was no surprise to those who knew me.
When I look at how mankind has evolved over years, it amazes me. My career goal is to become a mechanical engineer. I aspire to become skilled enough to create mechanics, which will improve people’s lives. I come from a very hardworking family. As the first son,a lot is expected from me to set good examples for my younger brothers.
Everyone wants to be something from a doctor to a stylist, I want to be a mechanical engineer. This is something I have always wanted to do in my life, the opportunities that exist in this field can lead to anything. Mechanical engineers are able to do many tasks in the job environment from designing, to developing, and also building. In addition, as new companies are starting up they will need mechanical engineers to help them develop their product. All of the engineering fields have great pay, that is able to support my family and also my parents. In the work environment of a mechanical engineer, they usually are around an office and sometimes where their product is being used at. To be able to apply for a mechanical engineering job you
One of the memories of my childhood I deeply cherish is that of my first visit to my father's small scale factory.Exploring the machinery which made my goal more easier and my dad sharing his experiences about the working of machines made me to grew up grossing my interest towards them. That was the time i chose to get into the field of mechanical. As a child, I was always intrigued by the working of complex mechanisms and equipment. I used to spend a lot of time trying to explore and figure out their principle. In school
I am applying for a Masters in Mechanical Engineering with a concentration in Solid Mechanics to expand on my study of and experience with materials. I have thoroughly enjoyed studying Materials Science and Engineering as an undergraduate at UCLA. I now look forward to moving into graduate study in a field of engineering with a related, but different perspective. Materials Science and Engineering has allowed me to explore both materials and other fields within engineering, contributing to my strong interest in combining my study of Materials Science and Engineering with Mechanical Engineering. I have completed basic coursework in most areas of engineering, learning statics, thermodynamics, basic programming, and circuit design. This has provided a strong foundation to continue graduate study in other engineering disciplines. I
My interest in pursuing mechanical engineering comes from my engineering teacher from griffin high school. I came in as a ninth grader, and I just chose to try it because I really did not know what I wanted to do. Mr. Burrell taught me many things. I feel like he prepared me the most by how much he challenged me and made me go through problem solving steps to figure out things that I did not know. Once I continued my knowledge through high school in engineering I figured out that mechanical engineering is the discipline that I felt like I was most interested in and that I was the most successful in. Webster specifically defines the discipline of Mechanical Engineering as, “the type of engineering tha...
But I did have an interest in materials. However, mechanical engineering is a very broad field. Mechanical engineering has an area of specialization referred to as “Materials and Manufacturing” [4] It doesn’t focus so heavily on material development and design so much as material selection and the methods of manufacturing parts using those materials. For example, “How do you mass produce carbon fiber parts?” would be a problem that a mechanical engineer of this specialization might set out to solve. At this point I had also had some exposure to electrical engineering, through a Snap Electronics kit and obtaining my Amateur Radio License. Mechanical engineers do take some electrical engineering classes. This gives mechanical engineers an understanding of electrical control systems and electric motors [5], both of which play important roles in machinery
My interest in the field of Automobile goes back to my early years in high school which is when I decided to pursue a career in engineering. As a child I was always fascinated by the very concept of automobile. Further, my father’s constant involvement in the automotive industry as an insurance claims assessor further enhanced my interests in automobiles. He was the one responsible for showing me the correct path to pursue my career in automobile field. Hence, after having completed my primary education, I decided to delve straight into the world of mechanics and engineering and pursued a diploma in mechanical engineering followed by a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. Since there were very few options in India & there was no direct path to get into automobile field.
An ambition to learn and grow and having passion for engineering have prompted me to go in for graduate studies. Chasing my Dreams! While growing up at a young age I was always intrigued by objects that produced mechanical work and energy be it prime movers such as automobiles, construction and mining equipment, turbo machinery such as jet engines, space shuttles or complex mechanisms of mechanical watches, I used to spend a lot of time trying to learn and figure out their basis and propositions, it was necessary for me to explore my inner conscience to understand my fascination towards machines and their ingenuity, Mechanical engineering seemed a direct consequence of my convictions. I have always admired my father as a civil engineer and his hard work and struggles throughout his life; He has always been a role model for me. He motivated me to pursue my dreams so I decided to pursue my undergraduate study in Mechanical Engineering
My career plan is to go into mechanical engineering. A mechanical engineer is the person who designs and make machines like generators. Engineering is a difficult and competitive field. Engineering requires a bachelor's degree and a good understanding of STEM (Science Technology Engineering Math). I would have to pass an engineering exam to get my license. Some school near me that offer the degree I want are Michigan, Michigan State, Michigan Tech, and Western Michigan.
Why do I want to be a civil engineer? Well, I am mainly interested in becoming a civil engineer for two reasons. My first reason is that I want to see something I designed on paper become real. I have always thought that was the coolest thing about engineers: they can design things like skyscrapers on paper, and then have them built because they are free of all errors. My second reason is just me wanting to have a career and not just a regular job at a factory, where there is always the chance of jobs being offshored or done by machines instead of people.
