When I was ten years old, my grandmother taught me how to knit. I never had an interest in knitting, nor did I find it comforting. It was difficult, and I would always grow frustrated when the string would knot together. Till this day I go through the trauma of knitting anything I can create from scarfs to sweaters. I sit there for hours doing something I do not even enjoy. At this point, it seems like insanity. However, I do this to myself for one reason and one reason only, and that is to improve my dexterity. Dexterity is a skill in performing tasks, especially with the hands. Dentists must be trained at working with their hands due to working with precise tools in a small area. Over the years, I have been working on my dexterity in order to become a great dentist whose hands do not tremble while drilling into patients’ mouths. Jajou, I questioned the maintenance of his career. What I acquired was that dental practices all vary and this question does not have one general answer. Dr. Jajou currently owns his own practice, which means he his in charge of his office and pays his employees making his salary higher than common dentists. Professional organizations and conferences are not important in the overall outlook of dentistry. On the other hand, Dr. Jajou had plenty to say about the technology used in dentists’ offices. Digital dentistry, or the use of dental technologies, involves lasers, digital scanners, and x-ray machines. However, only dental laboratory technicians use this expert machinery. Dentists use drills, mouth mirrors, probes, forceps, brushes, and scalpels on patients.
