We are lucky to have education available to us. There are so many opportunities for us to acquire an college degree and get ready for the real world. “Are Too Many People Going to College” by Charles Muray and “College Prepare People for Life” by Freeman Hrabowski. Both authors believe education matters and we all should learn from it. We all need to learn about our history, science, math and about many other fields. These authors also supports that education is for everyone and we should take advantage of it. Even though Muray and Hrabowski both address education, Hrabowski provides a more convincing argument due to his strong reasons, real life examples and with from his experience.
Many people believe that college is not important. Muray also believes that education matters. He think students should learn from high school rather then going to college because everyone needs to learn about the history and about our culture. Every students needs to learn about math, science and philosophy. As,
Hrabowski thinks college is a good starting point. Colleges prepare people for jobs, but more significantly, they prepare for their life. Help them to find the safe and more efficient path to succeed in the life. He said “those who claim Education is a Waste of Time are Missing the bigger picture”(259). That means college graduates are more likely to get a better job then those with a high school diploma. Freeman also gives an example of the late Walter Sondheim that remind us of the power of education each day. Sondheim acquire an college degree and then he got a job at Kohn & Company in Baltimore. He accomplished many other things cause of his liberal arts degree. Such as he became the civic leader in Maryland, have advised mayors and governors, led desegregation of the city schools, and was an active leader for decades.
