Being a leader, one’s followers will not want a servant leader who is dishonest; this specifies or shows that servant leaders must also have credibility, and along with honesty, integrity, and sincerity is essential to servant leadership. Followers should consider their servant leader to be knowledgeable and highly skillful as a leader in regards to organizational main goals and central business operations. Servant leaders also need to be able to influence their followers through ability to model behavior and relationships. As a servant leader, it is my primary duty to investigate, examine and make the right decision through strengthening the facility which will helps to improve society as a whole. Servant leadership has influence a lot of people, including myself and teach them how to become a better leader. In today’s modern society, quite a few people have experienced servant leadership, however, not a lot of people get to experience it first-hand. When it comes to leading a group or a company, some managers tend to manage the group instead of leading them by using their natural qualities and talents because of this, some companies or organization tend to fail or lose a lot of money. Individuals who are managers and do not understand the concept of being a servant leader, tend to use their power and authority to take advantage of others instead of sharing power in decision-making, put the needs of others first and help their group or employees to develop and perform as highly as possible which will help the company or facility to become more …show more content…

Even though lot of people do not like changes, but it helps one to come out of their comfort zone. At the UCF Community Care Center Bad habits had to be change such as not coming in to work on time and behaving badly on social media by talking bad about one’s boss on social media, one is not only degrading their boss, but he or she is also degrading the UCF Community Care Center. James Hunter’s book on being a servant leader, have also influence the way I handled and recognize ethical components on a daily basis and how to make quick decisions, for example, we were having some ethical issues at the facility such as patient files were left open and they were not properly and safely stored on the computer in the Electronic Medical Record program (EMR), so I had to take matters into my own hands and let the front desk assistant understand that patient files should be secure and stored properly. The book teaches me how to speak to my employees calmly when they are slacking off and not doing their jobs effectively without demanding them. I have also learn how to appreciate my staff members and when they have done an outstanding job, I do my best to acknowledge all the good things that they are doing at the facility and reward my staff members so that they know that I appreciate all of their hard work and dedication that they are putting
