There are many of heroes along with role models out there for example like Batman, and all the others we sometimes wish we could be, then there are the real heroes or people who make a difference in people’s life. Like firemen, policemen, and our military who take a risk with their life every day. One of my heroes happens to be my Grandpa, He served in The Korean War, he was the first person in the family to attend a college, and he always puts his family first. He didnt argued with anyone, no matter what the situation was. The only thing that he had to do in spite of hating it was fight in the war.

He feels young and handsome. He is most interested in politics and in the current candidates at the moment, and he doesn 't care about gossips. He thinks that health is the most important thing in the live. He doesn 't believe in ghosts. He likes the sincerity and the comradeship about society, and he likes violence least always puts his family first and he loves them very much and that it is one of his favorite things to do. He has been married for fifty-three years to my grandmother, Peggie. They have three kids together. At the moment he is an old man and he is not doing anything. He isn 't planning to do anything, because he is happy with his quiet life. He would like to take his wife to Australia. He enjoys reading most, watching TV and going for a walk One of the ways, my grandfather shows that he has a good heart are the things he does out of kindness for an example helping with my uncle Paul, He has cerebral palsy so he can 't walk or talk as well as not having total control of his muscles and can be discomfort to watch sometimes. But my Grandpa will always look over him and he enjoys it and so does my uncle, my uncle always gets a huge grin on his face when he sees him and just seems to have the best time with him. Generally when you think of a hero, who do you envision? Most likely, you picture a strong and imposeing figure, someone capable of performing in high pressure situations, demonstrating bravery and passion to help his/her fellow man. Those who typically fit that role in society are firefighters, policemen, and soldiers. Those people deserve all the credit and recognition they receive for their courageous acts. However, what about individuals or groups who aren’t necessarily on the “frontlines” physically protecting others and saving lives, but who work extremely hard to improve the lives of others in some way? These everyday people deserve credit as well. After all, to the people they help, these volunteers or activists are heroes. An example of such a group is the Greensboro Four, a few African American college students in the early 1960s who helped change the landscape of segregation in the Jim Crow South.
A hero is someone you look up to, someone who has done something to inspire you, someone who is your role model. In our society, there are many different types of heroes—family, friends, teachers, firefighters, and police officers to name a few. But a hero that stands out to me is a U.S. soldier. Soldiers risk their lives every day just so we can have our freedom.
Anyone can truly be a hero, even in real life. Heroes can be people who simply have an idea and decide to grow onto that idea and have it done. For example, Nelson Mandela and Mahatma Gandhi were real life heroes who started out as ordinary people but had a dream and made a huge difference in the end. Nelson Mandela, a Civil Rights activists, once said, “We can change the world and make it a better place. It is in your hands to make a difference” (Lazaro). Nelson Mandela was trying to say that anybody can make a difference, but it is up to that person or people to make that change. One simple change could cause any simple person to have a major change in lifestyle just because they decided to step up and do something. Furthermore, anyone can be a hero, it doesn’t matter what one’s background is, one can make even the simplest of changes and become a hero to oneself and the people around them.
By definition, my grandfather is handicapped. However, he doesn't act as though he is, and he certainly does not want to be treated in any special way.
One defining characteristic of every hero is that she thinks of others before herself. Many people, when called upon to name the heroes in their lives, will mention a parent or teacher who clearly put the needs of her children, above their own. When someone acts proves he cares more about those around him than he does even about his own life, he is considered a hero. Johnny Appleseed sacrificed many things in order to help other, the same applies to us.
You also don’t have to kill anyone, conquer foreign land, or risk your life to be a hero. Anyone who influences anyone else by saving or helping save his or her lives is a hero. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. changed the lives of millions of people by bringing justice to minorities. Mahatma Gandhi, one of the greatest heroes, led a nonviolent revolution to free his country.
My mother is my hero because she has taught me to treat others with compassion, thoughtfulness, and generosity. She taught me that those values were important in the best way, by living her own life according to them. She didn’t just tell me about values she felt were important, she lived by them. I have always admired my mother and felt so blessed to have her in my life. I know I am a better person for having her for a mother.
They say grandparents, are the two most favorite people in the world to children. Grandparents are the main characters of your childhood, they are the ones that leave you with the most beautiful memories of your life. Some grandparent’s teach you a very valuable lesson of life, they teach you respect, hard work, family values, and unlimited love. They show you their love in many ways, they say I love you in words as well as actions. Grandparents are the ones that sometimes get you out of trouble and guide you to the correct path. They show you trust, a trust that cannot never be broken.
As I was walking down the aisle of the funeral home, feeling pain and my eyes full of tears, I saw a white coffin. I slowly made my way towards the corpse. He was wearing his favorite white suit and shoes. His eyes where closed and his lips formed into a simple smile; there he was my grandfather or as I call him, Lolo. It was very saddening to see such a kindhearted and loveable man confined in a wooden box. It aggravates me to see him in that condition. I felt very lonely because I was used to having him right beside me at all times.
It’s hard to imagine all the events that led up to ourselves coming into the world or at least it is hard to some people. When I think about all my ancestors that had to survive all the things I read about in textbooks it’s a miracle we are all here. Trying to learn about all the people in my family’s tree was interesting to know how my ancestors came about, what they did, and how long they lived. I learned mostly about my mother’s side of the family who have lived and flourished in andrews, texas where I am from. I haven’t done anything great yet but I am hoping when my grandchildren have to write about me they have something awesome to write about and will think I did something good with my life.
What does phenomenal mean to you? One dictionary states phenomenal means very remarkable. My great grandmother was a very sophisticated and remarkable woman. Phenomenal should have been her first name, because that she was. My great grandmother was a rare breed; many do not come like that anymore. Memories of my great grandmother take me to a happy place, and hold a special place in my heart.
When reminiscing about my childhood a home is hard to recall. It seemed common for others to have a place called home. Moving from house to house was not the problem, but the empty feeling. Home to me was my grandparent’s house. I spent nearly all of my childhood there. My grandparents bought the one story house with two bedrooms in the early seventies. From the spacious bedroom, to the kitchen with endless possibilities and the way I spent my time this house defined my character.
When asked who their hero is, most people respond with the name of an athlete or an actress/actor. When asked who my hero is I would have to respond with a simple three letter word: mom. My mother has been the greatest inspiration in my life and is the main reason that I am where I am and who I am today.
When one thinks of heroes, names such as Ghandi, Martin Luther King, and Mother Theresa often come to mind. These people had done a lot of favors, courage, helps, and more of things for the people who needed them. They have change the world. But, heroes can be in anyway, even in each of individuals in the world. I have the persons who I think is the best hero in my mind. They are my parents.
I was assigned to do an autobiography for english class. It took me some time to think of stuff and things that have influenced my life. I thought over my life for a while. So to get things started I 'm going to talk about the most influential man I ever got the privilege to meet, My Grandpa. Ed Hansen
