Many people are successful in life by doing things their own kind of way. Some people are not successful because of their pride, it is bigger than their own goals. A way to be successful is being respectful to others everyone deserves to be respected. Ambition can make people successful because they love money more. If we respect the customers they will see it and respond the same way, but others don’t care and disrespect you. Even if people are yelling at us for something that happened to them or because they had a bad day we have to give them respect. There will be people that can have the worst day in their life and by us giving them respect they can change their mood automatically because we are not acting the same way as them. Sometimes by us giving them respect they can change the way they are and not expect everyone to act the same way as them. There will be times when we want to talk back at them because even if we give them respect they still keep on yelling at us. People who are responsible of getting their things done on time will always get accepted. The people who are not responsible will not get preferred instead of the people who are not responsible enough. If someone wants to succeed in life and stay recognized by superiors, then he or she ought to appear hardworking. A person begins with setting goals. There are two categories, the first, “be” goals and the second, “do” goals. In other words, ask yourself, "What to be?" or "What to achieve?" Four categories of goals consist of wealth, health, relationships, and self-fulfillment which equal success. Working diligently to finish a task demonstrates how to live a successful life. Given these points, Thomas Edison, Helen Keller and Harriet Tubman, all exceptional achievers, found that prosperity undoubtedly comes along for everyone who perseveres.
This is another core problem I will discuss. As Tzwick and Muncie (1989) contributed that, ‘confidence is the key to success’. “It is something either one has or does not, but can always be accomplished over time”.
My philosophy of success, is me growing into the person I want to become and being comfortable with the choices I decide to make in life. Success is not something I can achieve overnight, it’s something I must plan for then proceed to working hard for it as well. Without hard work, there isn’t anything successful about the job I want to get done or the job I wish to get done. Doing anything without hard work and dedication, and expecting the best outcome is not success; it’s mediocrity. Being mediocre/ will only allow me or anyone else to have a ‘Victim’s Mindset.’
Being the average high school student, I always wanted to succeed. Failure was not an option in anything I did. It was just how my mom raised me, to be just like her. My mom would always say, failure will never overtake if my desire to succeed is strong. During my senior year of high school, I decided to challenge myself by taking my first AP class, AP Literature. Albeit, I completely dislike literature, but I wanted to push my boundaries. I dislike literature because of the reading of sophisticated novels and sometimes I didn’t understand as well as the other students in the class, but I wasn’t going to let that deter me.
The first habit to be successful in life is to be proactive, this means you want to stay on top of everything that you have scheduled for that day. This habit does not come easy to me, I need to really work hard on prioritizing and staying on track of my goals. An example of when being proactive comes to play in my life is my school work. Being a new college student has brought the struggle of a heavy workload and with this come stress and procrastination. I am not one who is usually the proactive type, in the sense that I always do my work when it is assigned, I used to leave it all until the night before. By taking this class, and studying the 7 habits of highly effective people, I have learned that in order to stay successful throughout my college career I need to be proactive.
You can see how all of these mindsets and some of the ones we discussed earlier played out in the lives of people around us like Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bill Gates, and Donald Trump just to mention a few. Since these men are with us right now, let’s shift attention to how their lives reflect these mindsets and borrow a leaf there as to how you can be successful like them.

Respecting your employees, co-workers, and friends is a crucial part of your business practices so that you can gain their loyalty and respect. Quality people, indeed all people, have a need to be treated with dignity (Ramsay, 228). Loyalty and unity create a working team dedicated to committing to their job and build great companies.
