One can say that a person with a good combination of analytical, practical and creative intelligence is inclined to perform better in most pursuits in life. These types of intelligence are the key to underlying skills and abilities that will direct us to competent, accomplishing and productive life. He challenges prototypes, open doors into the new world and produce innovations. Former Apple co-founder and chief executive officer Steve Jobs showed us the power of creative thinking could do. From Apple I to iPod, from Pixar to iPhone, he was a creative genius indeed. Finally, a chief executive officer may also be practically intelligent, known for his adaptability, and concrete knowledge in real-world challenges (Sternberg). He is not only a “book smart”— but he is also a “street smart.” Because of his experiences, skills—along with his determination to succeed, he is likely to survive and excel in a competitive business world. Although in my opinion, the success of an individual is not measured by how much education he or she has, or by how many years of experience he or she had. A person 's success is measured by achievements, not by the weight of his or her resume. A Harvard MBA graduate might give an aspiring CEO a leg up in a job interview. I am analytical because I’d rather figure out a complex math equation than put my daughter’s bunk bed together, and I’d rather analyze Freud than try to fix a loose dryer vent pipe. Sternberg’s theory is composed of three sub parts; analytical, creative, and practical. Analytical intelligence refers to one’s ability to take apart and solve problems that do not seem so simple to solve. For example being able to solve complex math problems with less effort than people who have less analytical intelligence. This type of intelligence is the one that is most commonly tested, usually in school and in IQ tests. People with lower analytical intelligence usually have a harder time in school and have lower IQ scores making this seem like an unfair way to test intelligence. The second type of intelligence mentioned by Sternberg is creative intelligence. Creative intelligence deals with how well one can perform a task depending on how familiar the task is. People with higher creative intelligence can usually perform an unfamiliar task fairly well, compared to people with lower creative intelligence. The third type of intelligence that Sternberg theorizes is practical intelligence. Richard Florida focused on social and economic theories, which has developed a popular reputation in many cities today where the creative class has been adopted. This new class of Americans emerged after Richard Florida debuted his book The Rise of the Creative Class: And How it’s Transforming Work, Leisure, Community and Everyday Life in 2002. Throughout history, psychologists have made hundreds of attempts to define intelligence and measure it precisely. However, none of these attempts have been accepted by all because Intelligence is so broad. Intelligence has been defined by many things, by Weschler, who made the most used psychological test today, as “the global capacity of a person to act purposefully, to think rationally, and to deal effectively with his environment.” However, while he may have created the most successful test, his definition is not the only definition of intelligence, for psychologists such as Gardner, believed that there was more than just knowledge to intelligence, and Sternberg, who defined intelligence as “mental activity directed toward purposive adaptation to, selection and shaping of, real-world environments relevant to one’s life.” Intelligences has been measured in a variety of ways throughout psychologists, however because intelligence is such a broad concept, there is no single definition and method of testing it.
Creativity is a hard phenomenon to be measured, for it is a complex concept that encompasses a lot of domains; it is not specific to a certain field, rather it is manifested in different ways. Throughout the years, researches have tried to come up with a variety of methods to assess the occurrence and the development of the creative abilities individuals possess, each depending on a different perspective. Imagination is a word that applies to everyone. It remains a part of everyone’s life throughout childhood and adulthood. An imagination has no boundaries, and every individual’s imagination is one-of-a-kind. Imagination makes the dull perspective of life fun and entertaining. Its degree of influence on people and its uniqueness make imagination a particularly fascinating word, and this is why I was interested to delve deeper into the history and evolution of its definition. Initially, the first phrases that come to mind are “using your imagination” and “having a big imagination.” To me, these phrases mean forming new ideas by thinking creatively and having a big capacity for creative thinking. When I think of the word itself, I consider it to refer to the unique thoughts and fantasies that can lead to coming up with stories, uncommon inventions, and new ideas or concepts.

Critical and creative thinking are fundamental to human intellectual progress and artifacts thereof (Dewey, Elder, Csikszentmihalyi, Rosenman, & Gero, 2012). Critical and creative thinking are considered higher levels of thought because while it is believed that critical thinker primarily uses the left-brain and a creative thinker primarily uses the right-brain, both types of thinkers tend to think outside the box, but in different ways. There is no direct link between critical and creative thinking, but they each have different dimensions of thought that are used. Critical thinking is convergent thinking, creative thinking is divergent thinking.
Everybody; old and young have active an imagination, but we all express it differently than others. For me I express my imagination with my artwork. For example; when I was younger I watched a lot of cartoons just like any other kid. My favorite cartoon at the time was He-Man. I loved the show so much that I frequently dreamt and imagined of being strong like him, but I knew it could not be possible so instead of dreaming, I drew up an entire comic book of myself being a super strong super hero just like He-Man all thanks to my vivid imagination and artistic ability. I’m sure I’m not the only one who has done something similar.
