Where Have All the Dino's Gone?

663 Words2 Pages

The theories of where the dino’s have gone has been a long mystery. Since the finding of the first fossil paleontologists and other scientists have long wondered where the dinosaurs have gone. When did the dinosaurs go extinct? How did they go extinct? All these questions have been asked for years. But there are two different sides of these theories. Scientific theories and religious theories. Both have very good points and very interesting views. What some believe in is there choice but in the end we may never know. Did a collision with a giant asteroid or comet change the shape of life on earth forever? Maybe it was a God like destruction with a huge flood where only the chosen ones were spared. The rest perished in the flood and became what we find today, fossils.
There are several theories in the scientific area. The one I am focusing on is the possibility of a collision with an asteroid or a comet. It is widely agreed by lots of scientists across the globe that perhaps an asteroid or comet 10 kilometers wide smashed into the earth, going 150 times faster than an airline, off the coast of the Yucatan peninsula. The crater which is today known as the Gulf of Mexico stretches 150 kilometers from the coast of Mexico to the coast of Florida and the Cuban islands. Scientists believe that the dinosaurs came to a quick and catastrophic end. With months of research scientists found out, dense clouds blocked the sun's rays darkening and chilling the earth to deadly temperatures. Then settled greenhouse gasses caused by impact caused temperatures to skyrocket above normal levels. In a few years, according to this hypothesis, these temperatures caused not just dinosaurs but 70% of plant and animal life to come to a dramatic end. W...

... learned a lot about the dinosaurs extinction theories then I thought I would ever learn. I found out that some people are kinda koo koo with their ideas on the dino extinctions. Others are very interested in their line of work. You can kind of see who is interested, crazy, or just don’t care. But in the end the only ones who could possibly know of what happened to the dino’s are the big man upstairs, if you believe in him, and the things we dig up all the time and have been dead for millions of years.
