What is an Interview?
An interview is a conversation, which is held between two or more individuals where some questions are asked by the interviewer to obtain information about the interviewee. When the assignment Conduct a Job Search was given to us, we were excited. This kind of project was not only to help graduating students, like ourselves but anyone who is entering the workforce.
An interview can be one of the best experiences. The interviewing program we have developed will be taught through slides, presentation, systematic activities, and skits. Individual folders will be handed out including pictures that will demonstrate how to wear the right clothes for the interview. The skits that some of participants in the session will be partake in is to give them a little feel on what types of appropriate things they could say and not say (which can play a big part whether or not you will get hired). During the training session, we will motivate the class by having donuts and coffee to show our appreciation for coming to the session. We hope to give the participants a peace of mind on what could assist them with finding employment or a great career.

Interview Groundwork: Steps to the Interview educates people on how to go about obtaining employment and the process one goes through from finding a job to the interview. From this training session we hope you obtain knowledge of different areas and ways to look for a job, writing resumes and cover letters, proper attire for the interview, commonly asked interview questions, and how to behave while on an interview. Interviewing is a procedure which recounts to a controlled situation in which one person asks a chain of questions to another person, relating to a specific field (Sommers-Flanagan and Sommers-Flanagan, 2008, p. 18). Interviewing skills are pivotal in making an interview more effective, as it is an overall judgement of candidate’s capabilities (Interviewing skills, 2002, p. 8). The process of Interviewing is divided into five phases i.e. Introduction, opening, body, closing, and termination (Sommers-Flanagan and Sommers-Flanagan, 2008, p. 144). According to Sommers-Flanagan and Sommers-Flanagan (2008, p. 145-154), introduction also named “initiation”, is the initial phase in which the interviewer explains his role, confidentiality policy, rules and regulations, and the purpose of the meeting. Also a person is put at ease and a short informal talk, develops a therapeutical relationship. Then the opening commences with the first question which is more about the person’s current concern (Sommers-Flanagan and Sommers-Flanagan, 2008, p. 154-160). There are a many challenges that an officer faces when it comes to interviews and interrogations. Some challenges include learning if someone is a possible suspect through the information received in an interview, preparation for the interrogation, issues with legality of the Miranda warnings, deception by the officer, emotional balance, and most importantly, preventing false confessions.
At the start of the meditation, Descartes begins by rejecting all his beliefs, so that he would not be deceived by any misconceptions from reaching the truth. Descartes acknowledges himself as, “a thing that thinks: that is, a thing that doubts, affirms, denies, understands a few things, is ignorant of many things” He is certain that that he thinks and exists because his knowledge and ideas are both ‘clear and distinct’. Descartes proposes a general rule, “that whatever one perceives very clearly and very distinctly is true” Descartes discovers, “that he can doubt what he clearly and distinctly perceives is true led to the realization that his first immediate priority should be to remove the doubt” because, “no organized body of knowledge is possible unless the doubt is removed” The best probable way to remove the doubt is prove that God exists, that he is not a deceiver and “will always guarantee that any clear and distinct ideas that enter our minds will be true.” Descartes must remove the threat of an invisible demon that inserts ideas and doubts into our minds to fool us , in order to rely on his ‘clear and distinct’ rule.
Interviews are very popular among most individuals especially researchers and scholars as they attempt to obtain information and data from an interviewee. However, there are many factors that influence the interview and which determines its success or failure. Often, the interviewer takes charge of the situation, and they have the sole responsibility of asking the questions while the interviewee provides an explanation or an answer to the question asked. As a result, an interview can be defined as a consultation or a discussion in person through which information and data are exchanged regarding a particular phenomenon event with the intention of establishing the interviewee’s position. model starts with the first stage, Preparation and Planning. During this stage, the interviewer looks at how any information gained from the current interview could be used to strengthen the ongoing investigation. Learning about the suspect and making a list on the objectives of the investigation are a necessity to conduct the interview. A timeline of events is erected relating to the offense that is under investigation and that timeline is used to develop a questioning plan based on the existing evidence. Following the first stage, the interviewer would then start the engage and explain stage. In this two part stage, the interviewer starts out by engaging the suspect by relaying to him/her how the interview will take place. In attempts to establish rapport, the interviewer will converse with subject by conducting themselves in a professional and personable manner. The interviewer makes sure that the suspect understands the reason and purpose for the interview, explaining also how the interview is expected to progress and stresses the ground rules and expectations of the interview. There are several phases of the motivational interviewing known as: engaging, focusing, evoking, and planning. Each step builds upon one another and are viewed in a stair step sort of representation. Within meditation one Descartes subjects all of his beliefs regarding sensory data and even existence to the strongest and most hyperbolic of doubts. He invokes the notion of the all powerful, malign demon who could be deceiving him regarding sensory experience and even his understanding of the simplest mathematical and logical truths in order to attain an indubitable premise that is epistemologically formidable. In meditation one Descartes has three areas of doubt, doubt of his own existence, doubt of the existence of God, and doubt of the existence of the external world. Descartes’ knowledge of these three areas are subjected to three types of scepticism the first where he believes that his senses are being deceived ‘these senses played me false, and it is prudent never to trust entirely those who have once deceived us’. The second of the forms of scepticism revolves around whether Descartes is dreaming or not ‘I see so clearly that there are no conclusive signs by means of which one can distinguish between being awake and being asleep’. The aforementioned malign demon was Descartes third method of doubt as he realised God would not deceive him.
Non judgmental and Compassion was a message in this movie. If more people would have compassion for others we would live in a better world. It is important to be non judgmental because people never know what happens in a person's life to cause them to act out in a certain way. Mrs. Erin Gruwell’s students were separated along racial lines and had few aspirations beyond street survival. Many people warned her that her students were all criminals who couldn’t be taught. Career Counseling, or Career Services depending on the institution, is frequently offered on a one-on-one basis, but at times this service is provided through group workshops, classes, or computerized guidance systems. Traditionally a standard function of the career services role is to help students develop job search skills however the scope of the career development services has broadened considerably in recent years (Komives, Woodard, & Associates, 2003, p. 344). Career services professionals may teach resume writing, critique students' resumes and cover letters, provide resources on resume and employment letter writing, job interviewing skills, and planning job search strategies. Students may be videotaped in mock interviews so they can see themselves in action. Additionally some career services offices involve alumni, school advisory committees, or employers in critiquing resumes, conducting practice interviews, or leading workshops. Many may also offer sessions on related topics such as professional networking, proper attire, or transitioning to the work place.

In order to evaluate and discern what is actually true he divides the foundations of knowledge into three sources: the senses, reality, and context.

Therefore, employees need to read through applicant’s document and qualifications, hence organize an interview to be more close with the applicant, to know more about the applicants, see if they are suitable for the job position. Selection process can help the employees not to make wrong decisions, this is a good opportunities to assess skills, aptitude and abilities. (John, 2007)
To be better prepared you should bring extra copies of your resume. You never know who all will be doing the interview process, and it would look very great to have copies prepared so that everyone could look over your resume if they would like. Having a reference list ready with names, organizations, and phone numbers will reflect greatly on your effort in being prepared. Knowing what type of interview you will be attending will help you prepare for what kind of questions you will be asked, and what kind of things you will be asked to do. Sometimes, the employer will interview you in a group with others and ask you situational interview questions, depending on the position you are applying for. In this case, you would need to be prepared to answer questions in front of others and not just one-on-one with the hiring manager. Researching situational interview questions and preparing real life responses will help during your interview.
