During the course of history, two theories have evolved that explain what happened to the dinosaurs.  These two theories have been debated back and forth between evolutionists and religious followers.  Evolutionists believe that dinosaurs became the most powerful beings on Earth around 235 million years ago.  They believe that no humans existed at the time.  Evolutionist views also say that all the dinosaurs were killed by a cataclysmic event.  On the other hand, the Bible says that God created the dinosaurs on the same day that he created Adam and Eve (Ham, 2007).  They also believe that the dinosaurs were victims to the Great Flood that was caused by God’s wrath against human sin.  Biblical views also say that fossils of humans were found along with dinosaur fossils. With both theories providing evidence of their claims, it is hard to say which one of the happenings is correct.  The debate has come down to science vs. religious, which is a ticking time bomb.  These two theories have caused much controversy in the scientific field as well as with religious believers.

Scientific Evidence
The evolutionary theory of the dinosaurs extinction says that their history is recorded in fossil layers that have formed over millions of years.  The dinosaurs were more successful than any other animals on the Earth. They were larger and more powerful so they dominated the food chain and all the vegetation.  This allowed them to rule any area in which they dwelled.  Evolutionists also believe that humans evolved a long time after dinosaurs were extinct.  Even if there were humans at the time, they would have fell victim to the same fate as the dinosaurs. Sixty five million years ago, the largest volcanoes in the history of the Earth erupted across what is now India, effectively annihilating the dinosaurs by spewing out noxious gas and ash, that effectively blocked out the sun killing off most vegetation and breaking the food chain, leaving the dinosaurs to starve....   [tags: eath history, dinosaurs ]

- Dinosaur stress: Stress on the dinosaurs is a possible solution for their extinction. This theory was first thought up by Heinrch K. Erben when he found that the shell thickness of a certain type of dinosaur species decreased as time went on. It was thought that the warm climate and good habitats in the Cretaceous period could have caused over population of dinosaurs, thus an increase of stress on the dinosaurs would develop. Stress is known to cause hormonal imbalances in modern day birds and lizards, so this could have happened to female dinosaurs....   [tags: Animal Research ]
