In the eyes of an entrepreneurial there are many choices to consider when venturing into a business. Opportunity for new ventures are large in quantity and there is great potential for growth. There are ways to place value on the consumer by offering products and a service that beats out the competition. To study the potential market and find out what is needed in a product or service is an essential step to any type of business. In some cases the approach of using the lean process is used; however this process gives great opportunity to optimize a product but not to market-fit the product (Cabage, 2013). One of the biggest challenges to product innovation is in lack of heuristic models or best practices for identifying a marketable product. This is where the term product opportunity evaluation matrix or POEM framework was conceived from. This concept helps to determine if a service or product is marketable.
