Into the life of Audrey Hepburn
One of the most influential women of all time was Audrey Hepburn. Not only for her ravishing beauty and iconic fashion, but for the love she spread throughout all her charity work, for the lives she changed trying to make the world a better place, and for striving to make something of herself when it seemed like all hope was lost during World War 2. Audrey Hepburn will forever remain in our hearts.
Audrey was born on May 4, 1929 in Brussels, Belgium. Her loving parents sadly divorced when she was only 6 years old, to imagine how hard that must have been for her is sad, but it is nothing compared to what lied ahead of her. Audrey attended school in England like a good student until the year became 1939, the beginning of World War 2. During this time her mother thought it would be safest to move to the Netherlands, thinking all would safe for young Audrey, however, the Nazis soon advanced and occupied Holland. It was through sheer work and determination that she managed to wake up every morning and still attend her classes and ballet, even knowing that her fate could soon be tempted by the Nazis to become a prostitute, (“Hepburn, Audrey”). Many men and women would feel defeated, or that all hope was simply out of reach, but not Audrey. Even in grievous hours, she managed to stay strong and keep her head up high for the bright future that lay ahead of her. After the world war, she decided to continue on with her studies of acting and modeling, and by the time she was in her twenties, Audrey began to receive small film roles, (Tejvan).She proves to many woman all over the world that people don’t have to sit back and assume a so called “role” that...

According to her other younger son, Luca Dotti, "Until her last day and for all her life at home with us, she was never 'Audrey Hepburn,' just 'Mama.' For most people, their mother is just their mother, and questions never arise. For us, it was just like that. Only later did we find out about all the love and admiration her life and career had been able to inspire." These words shone the light on the wonder that Audrey did as an actress, and a mother. (Fiori, Pamela).
Throughout the years faces come and go, but the one who will always remain a part of us, is Audrey Hepburn. For she was a strong woman who lived through hard times, a fashion icon to all beautiful woman, and an incredible woman for all of her charity work that she did, she will be missed. Rest in peace, Audrey Hepburn.
