I give all my loved ones a prolonged good-bye hug and enter the spaceship that has been prepped for me. I sink down into my seat with a sigh, thinking about how much I will miss Mars. I then secure each thick safety strap across my body, coming to an almost instantaneous realization that even though my entire body is trembling with fear, I am ecstatic for my journey to a new foreign land. My fingers quiver as I press the “takeoff” button. Instantly, I tumble back into my seat, and a smile creeps up on my face as I daydream about what the future years on this planet will hold. I rise up from my slumber with a jolt as I hear the alarms blaring in an attempt to warn me that the ship is about to enter Earth’s stratosphere. I buckle up more securely …show more content…

I walk until I feel the ground shift into a firmer material, I look down onto the gray surface with yellow lines down the middle and follow it. All of the sudden, my peace is disturbed when I hear a beeping noise louder than when I drove my parent’s spaceship and crashed it into the moon. I turn around, identifying that there is a human in some kind of metal contraption behind me. I want a glimpse of what they look like on the inside, so I decide that the large store with a constant flow of people, “Walmart”, is the one I will try out first. I walk through the moving glass doors and try my best to seem casual as I take it all in. A frail human with white hair a tag that my brain translates to greeter offers me a “shopping cart.” I inspect it for signs of explosives, and seeing that there are no mass weapons of destruction intended for the people of my planet, I take one. It rattles along as I push it, and I cannot help finding it amusing that humans have to lug these around. On my home planet we attach an anti-gravity device to the items we want and they float alongside us. The first area I come by is called the “deli.” As I walk over I notice what a pleasant aroma one of the items is giving off. I look at the item in the brown squared box called “pizza” and put in into my cart as my mouth waters. I then go around and inspect more of the human foods, which are so different from what we eat at home. I smell sweet aromas as I pass the circular balls labeled apples, and pile a large portion of them into my
