Reflection Paper

At the beginning of this semester, I was not so good at writing. I knew there were plenty of grammatical issues that I had to work on. It was a struggle to keep up with the commas and run-on sentences that appeared in my paper. Also in this semester, I saw how hard it is to write formal and not use first person. It was a challenge. As the semester, gets closer to the end, I learned about my writing is that I still need to work on my commons and fragments, I bring up go ideas on how to start my essays, and better at formatting my essay for academic audiences. One thing I learned about my writing is that I can brainstorm ideas for my paper. For most of my papers, I think about what my introduction is going to be, then I would outline what are the three topics I going to write about, and last, my conclusion. Coming up the ideas (prewriting), I take a good amount of time to try and figure out what to write about and how to organize it. This was challenge for me because I was use to using first or second person and contractions. When coming up with my rhetorical analysis and comparative essay, I had to remind myself that it was an academic paper. For my rhetorical analysis, I would sometimes end up using second person to try explain how the audience connected with the author. I was not as bad with contractions in my rhetorical analysis. In the comparative analysis, I tried looking over my essay to make sure there was no second person or contractions. For my literacy narrative, I did not have to worry about those things because they I was about me and my past. Which was easier than the rhetorical analysis and comparative analysis. However, as the semester went along I felt more confident about academic papers. I start to actually learn the difference from writing formal and informal
