Health and fitness is all around, everywhere you look and everywhere you go you'll see information about personal fitness. Everyone can always strive to live a healthier life and improve his or her well being no matter weight age or height. Diet and exercise is the solution to maintaining a healthy weight and are essential in living a long and happy life.
No one can deny that following a diet and exercise regimen contains numerous benefits if you include both into your lifestyle. Regular exercise and the consumption of a healthy diet can lead to many benefits including increased energy, happiness, health and even a long life. Exercise and diet help determine a persons overall health, incorporating both in you life can impact a difference in how you look and feel (Schuna). Obesity remains an extremely serious issue worldwide. Once considered a problem for wealthier counties, overweight and obesity are now dramatically increasing in low and middle income countries (WHO, 2011). In American, the rates of obesity continue to soar. CDC (2009) recognizes obesity as a risk factor for diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, and other health problems. According to NHANES over two-thirds of the US are overweight or obese, and over one-third are obese (CDC, 2009). Treatment for this illness varies; it may include the incorporation of diet, exercise, behavior modification, medication, and surgery. Since there is no single cause of all overweight and obesity, there is no single way to prevent or treat overweight and obesity that will help everyone (CDC, 2009).

Exercising regularly can help prevent excess weight gain or help maintain weight loss. You don’t need to go to the gym to exercise, doing small actives such as walking somewhere sort distance instead of taking the car or even do some exercises whilst watching T.V. Exercising boost energy, reduces stress, helps you sleep better and lifts our mood. It’s important to eat regular to ensure that your body gets the required amount of energy to move. Skipping a meal doesn’t help loss weight, it means that you will be more likely to eat more during the next meal.

Obesity is a very common health problem in the U.S., and the number of people considered obese is forever increasing. More than 35.7% of U.S. adults are considered obese (“Adult Overweight”). The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism points out that “obesity is a chronic medical condition characterized by too much body fat” (Beeson, Hill, Wyatt). It is diagnosed by a number called the Body Mass Index or BMI. This number calculates the amount of body fat based on the person’s height and weight. The higher the BMI the more body fat obese people have which leads to obesity. An adult with a BMI between 25 and 29.9 is considered overweight. An adult with a BMI of greater than 30 is considered obese (“Adult Overweight”). While Obesity is an extremely serious problem in the U.S., this condition, except possibly for the cases of genetic and hormonal disorders, can be prevented by portion control, exercise, and eating a well-balanced diet.
Although many individuals are uncertain about the increasing statistics associated with obesity, more than seventy percent of men and virtually sixty-two percent of women within the United States adult population are overweight or obese (Wilmore, Costill, & Kenney). Obesity refers to the condition of having an excessive amount of body fat. If an individual’s amount of body fat becomes too excessive, he/she is at a much greater risk of developing life-altering diseases such as heart failure, hypertension, type II diabetes, cancer, gallbladder disease, osteoarthritis, etc. (Wilmore, et al., 2008).
