Values in my opinion should determine your priorities, and they’re probably the measures, you use to tell if your life is turning out the way you want it to. Knowing your own values can help you make decisions about how to live your life. The values that I believe in play a very important role in my life. These important values have been greatly influenced by my family and life experiences. My core values include family, health, knowledge, happiness, friendship, loyalty, trust, hard work, honesty, and learning. The first value I chose is family. Merriam-Webster defines the word family as, "a group of people who are related to each other”. However, to me personally, I feel that family is way more than just your relatives. Family has been a huge influence in why I’m in college today and has taught me right from wrong. Family is so important to me because they thought me how to build relationships with other people, how to love, how to get, always have my back no matter what, and know me the so well. Merriam-Webster defines the word health as, “the condition of being well or free from disease”. Health is very more important to me because I want to live a longer life and it helps me become more energetic when carrying out home/work tasks. Merriam-Webster defines the word knowledge as “information, understanding, or skill that you get from experience”. Knowledge is significant to me because it helps me have a better understanding of the world and how things works. Without knowledge, we as a society could not accomplish much in life. Knowledge is a key factor in every field because it helps us humans make ethical decisions. Merriam-Webster defines the word happiness as “the state of being happy”. I believe Happiness makes life seem si... ... middle of paper ... ...t going to be easy and if want to become a project manager, I need to come up with more ways to demonstrate that I’m trustworthy. I feel that my knowledge level needs to grow a lot, if want to succeed in the Information Technology field. With so much new technology coming into the market, I need to be able to comprehend it, in order to help others. I would love to explore more in my learning value because there is so much to learn about the new technologies coming out. My core values will outline all of the decisions that I will come across in my personal life, as well in my career. Being true to my core vales will bring out my true character and keep me motivated. Understanding and living my core values will open the door to more inspiration in my life. Finally living up to my core values allows me, to get more of the right things done and enjoy the journey more.

I also place great value on being selfless, not completely selfless as we need to care for ourselves, but a significant amount of selflessness and caring for others. This is a value that I have seen in many members of my family, again, mostly from my father and the time and effort he has put into helping not only me, but friends, family, colleagues, and people he barely knows. Closely linked with selflessness, my final core value is compassion. My father not only showed selflessness with a range of people, but also compassion.
