America’s growth has been postponed by around 2%. The federal budget deficit has exceeded $1 trillion for four years in a row, and the public debt stands at around $16 trillion. The economy has 3 million scarcer jobs now than it had in December 2007, which was the start of the recession. The most important task before the 113th Congress is to increase the economic growth of the U.S. and according to the different findings as to what can help in the economic growth, Immigration reform has sought to be part of the growth agenda making it an instant and authoritative way to do that. During the second oath ceremony of President, Mr. Barack Obama stated that Immigration reform would be a priority in his second term. The broken system of immigration is hindering the economic growth of U.S and harming the people of America so it must be reformed. In order to help move our economy forward and bring it to the position that it held before, we must embrace a more flexible system that allows workers having more potential to enter the country legally and contribute to it. This will not only benefit the country but also native-born Americans who will encounter broader job opportunities. Immigration increases the economic productivity by reducing labor shortages in low and high skilled markets as their educational credentials fill holes in the native-born labor market. Immigration has been a widely debated topic ever since it came into being. If there are people in favor then there are people who oppose it. Such people feel themselves as a part of the minority and that their freedom is being undermined whereas more importance is being given to such a majority who is illegal and doesn’t have the righ... ... middle of paper ... ...roken system is the best America can do, then I guess it makes sense to try to block it.” (Landler and Parker, 10) For the welfare of the country and its people such laws need to be taken into deliberation as it will not only benefit nationally but also globally. It will help bring the government and its’ people closer with people’s faith and trust building upon the government. Millions of people are waiting to be reunited with their families and employers are not able to recruit undocumented people as per the violation of the law. The effects of this broken system extend beyond this. Immigration and economy of the U.S. go hand in hand and the only solution to restructure and re-establish the economy of the America is to be in favor of such immigration reform bills which not only support the country but also help its people.
