Basketball is a widely populated sport in today’s society since it was created in the late 1800s by Dr. James Naismith. Running is the first step in becoming conditioned for the basketball season. As a basketball player, you are going to have to run up and down the court constantly so, it is important that you have high stamina. Long distance or timed running would be a great way for building stamina. Creating a daily running schedule is not a bad idea to keep you on track. Your schedule can start off by running laps around the gym for about 15-20 minutes. Next, run non-stop suicides in the gym for another 10-15 minutes. A suicide is when you start in one end and run up and down the court non-stop until you touch every line or increment in the gym. Finally, you should end the workout by running sprints for another 10 minutes. This is necessary because running non-stop forces your body to withstand all the pressure and it will build up your stamina. Also, running strengthens up your leg muscles so you will run faster and jump higher, which is crucial for basketball players. Running is the first of four steps that will help you prepare for the upcoming basketball season.

Without one-hundred percent dedication, you won't be able to do this” In order to succeed it’s required to put everything on the line to survive in the world of sports. Without devoting to sports there is no correct path to success. Nobody will be on the level of competition. Dedication also comes into play where people will need to be better in other areas. Starting my freshman year at County High School, I played basketball and loved every minute of it. I wouldn’t be conceited enough to say I was good, but God did bless me with the talent to play. My life revolved around the sport of basketball; some would say I slept, ate, and breathed every part of it. I spent all my time training and practicing to make myself a more dedicated athlete. This dedication not only helped me as a player, but also molded me into the person I am today. It somehow helped to prepare me for what defeat I would face with back surgery in the future.
Attention Getter: “I wish I was a little bit taller, I wish I was a Baller, I wish I had a girl who looked good I would call her.” That timeless phrase coined by Ski-Lo in the early nineties, resonates with so many of us because all of those goals are things that people relate to being successful. And while I can’t help you with the first and the last respectively, becoming a “Basket-baller” is quite feasible, with a little hard work.
Despite the varying demands each sport has, preparation for football and basketball essentially utilizes identical plans. In the offseason, the two positions spend the majority of their time working out and preparing for the upcoming season. There are a diverse number of approaches and techniques to prepare for the future, but players generally take on indistinguishable plans. A very important part of preparing for the next season is to work out muscles. However workouts can not be inconsistent and easy, it is essential for all workouts to be persistent and intense; they must also include all muscles in the body. In addition to increasing muscles, endurance and stamina must also be heightened. Running in general is the most preferred way to increase stamina. Players from these positions also spend a great deal of time going over old plays and learning to execute new ones. The precision of a play is mandatory for professional sports. The quarterback and point guard must also get

I play basketball, not only because it gives me a source of exercise, but it also allows me to be engaged in a competitive atmosphere again. To play basketball, you start knowing little and learn from your coach a lot more. It is important to learn how the game works from the different techniques of the game to the rules, goals, and communication that come with the game of basketball.
As I was growing up, I’ve always love the game of basketball. When I was at the young age of five, I got my first basketball for my birthday. I can still remember what kind of basketball I had received that day. It was a multi-colored Spalding kid’s ball. Right when I unpacked the basketball, I quickly ran outside and began to try and dribble it. As I got older, I quickly developed more skills. I personally believe that I have natural athleticism. I believe that because it
Many video games supply people with a way to entertain themselves. One game for example is National Basketball Association 2k17 (NBA 2k17). Although it is a popular game, many are uninformed of its many advantages. Some find that NBA 2k17 is just another way to earn money and persuade consumers into buying their product. However, playing the game of NBA can help improve one’s skill and knowledge about the game of basketball.
The game of basketball along with football and soccer is one of the most prominent sports in the United States and the World. It’s played at every level from 5 & under to the professional athletes in the NBA and overseas. Every team is made up of virtually the same elements; the guards, big men and coaches. Basketball is not a sport where you can focus solely on yourself, but the focus should be on the team. The sport is very public and easy to see, however there are many things that occur behind closed doors when no one is looking.
...e you a great shooter. Although I suffered injuries in my past basketball career which earned me a basketball scholarship to play collegiate basketball, I am now more knowledgeable about my position. This knowledge has helped me reflect on myself and my experiences as a player transitioning to a coach. I believe it is important that I educate my players and teach them proper mechanics but also mental set. Acknowledge that the jump shot is more than a motion of physical ability and talent, it takes a great amount of thinking and implying the information you already know to what you learned. All coaches throughout the country regardless of their level should have knowledge of biomechanics and require there staff to also know the following information. This allows the opportunity for kids to learn the correct technique, prevent injuries, and transform them as a player.
“The odds of a high school basketball player making it to the “next level” to play college basketball (DI, II, or III) is slim. In fact, only 3.4% of high school players go on to play college basketball. Taking it even further, only 1.2% of college basketball players go on to get drafted in the NBA” (Winters, 2016). There are two types of players in the game. There are the kids who play basketball because they are athletic, and all they are seeking to gain is the recognition and awards. They want to be known. Those players are self-centered, they do not play for the team, and generally don’t play because they love the game. These are the types of players who don’t usually go on to play at the next level. On the other hand, there are the players that absolutely dedicate their life to the game of basketball just because they love the game. That is what coaches are looking for in a player, and that is the kind of player I am striving to be.
Basketball seems to get into your blood. It is said by those who play, "You eat, you sleep and you play basketball." When I was a little girl all I wanted to be was a professional basketball player. I couldn't count how many times I pounded that dumb ball in our driveway until it was too dark to see, then I would play for hours more by the porch light. Now I realize that was only childish insanity. Back then they didn’t even have a girls’ profession basketball league in the states. However, that didn't stop me from walking away empty handed. One thing I learned was how to prepare oneself for life. Well, at least, how to prepare oneself for a game.
I had always heard playing basketball at a high school level was always the first step in order to become a professional. Though I only played once throughout high school I was still interested in how one could become a professional at basketball. For my senior project I chose to research about it and found out many interesting things I didn’t know about it. My knowledge for basketball grew even more.
When discussing the physical impact basketball had in my life, I will not hesitate to state that, I used to be overweight, but now I have a normal weight. Due to the vigorous exercises we do during the game, I was able to develop physical fitness and better shape.
