N-acetyl L-cysteine or NAC is a dietary supplement. People take it to increase their cysteine levels in the body. Cysteine is an amino acid that is necessary in the body. After taking it as a supplement, your body will convert it into cysteine. Again, it will turn it into glutathione, a very potent antioxidant. In addition to boosting glutathione levels, N-AcetylL-cysteine fights free radicals. These cause inflammation in the DNA and body cells. The end result is cancer, heart disease, stroke and other degenerative diseases. Hence, it is necessary to use NAC supplements.
N-acetyl L-cysteine can support your body in several ways:
Eradicate free radicals
The way free radicals ruin cell structures and DNA devastates the whole body. Since they constantly form, they could cause a serious damage too soon. Since the N-Acetyl L-Cysteine is a potent antioxidant, it nourishes every body cell.
Boosts glutathione levels
NAC boosts production of glutathione. This antioxidant is in every body cell in the human body. Its work is to neutralize free radicals.
