The war on immigration has brought major controversy to the United States. Kenneth Jost, the author of an article called “Immigration Conflict”, talks about the debate people are having on aliens. He also addresses whether or not states should strictly inforce immigration laws. Jost stays impartial throughout the article but he presents good arguments for people are Pro states enforcing immigration laws and people who are against states enforcing immigration laws in order to inform the reader about what is going on. One good point he presents is aliens coming to the United States and taking jobs, leaving some Americans unemployed. He then adds that aliens tend to work for less money and receive lower income that ultimately hurts the U.S. economy. Illegal aliens can argue that they have their lives established in the United States but that they live in fear because they don’t want to start over again. His recent claims against immigration has risen the controversy of whether or not states should strictly inforce immigration reform laws to “make America great again.” Trump states in his reform that he plans to put American workers first because recent spikes in immigration has caused unemployment rates to sky rocket. Aliens pay lower amounts of taxes due to low income, making it unfair for Americans who pay more taxes. Additionally, the U.S. government has to pay for immigration education and health services. Despite the United States’ work relief elements and large government programs to help new aliens, the country should become more stringent with immigration laws because they contribute to economic crisis such as increased job loss, decreased tax revenue and necessary government
