The book of novel by Homer translated by Richmond Lattimore is a book that talked about the war that happened between Greek and the Trojans. The war between both countries was as a result of Paris (Prince of Trojan, The brother of Hector and the son of Priam the king of Trojan) who collected Menelaus (The brother of Agamemnon) wife, Helen (The most beautiful woman in Greek) during the visit of Troy in Greek, also the fight was as a result of wrath of the gods against each other and against mortals. The most powerful warrior in The Iliad, Achilles controls the Myrmidons, soldiers from his homeland of Phthia in Greece. Proud and headstrong, he takes offense easily and reacts with blistering indignation when he perceives that his honor has been slighted. Achilles’ wrath at Agamemnon for taking his war prize, the Briseis. In This easy I will indicate how the conflict between Agamemnon and Achilles came about, Why Agamemnon believe that he has the right to claim Achilles prize and Achilles believe that he has the right to possess his prize?, why Achilles reasoning different from Agamemnon, Agamemnon admit that he wrong when he sends ships intent of persuading Achilles to return to battle and how Achilles responded to the people sent by Agamemnon to persuades Achilles, what made Achilles to return to battle and lastly, the conflict between Agamemnon and Achilles ever resolved and why they did not resolved the problem. Why Achilles reasoning different from Agamemnon: If you understand the conflict between both men Agamemnon and Achilles you will notice that Agamemnon plunder (Chryesis) was return to her father (Chryses) as a result of the plague Apollo imposed on the Greek because Chryeses the father of Chryesis prayed to Apollo for plague to fall on the Greek as result of Agamemnon not accepting his ransom and threatening to kill him if he ever lay his eyes on him again. Then he prayed to Apollo saying if he ever pleased him by building a temple, offered him sacrifice of rich thigh pieces of bulls and goat that he should bring to pass his pray of his arrow to fall on the Greek for his tears shed, Apollo granted him his request. In order for the plague to be removed Agamemnon has to surrender Chryeses to her father without any ransom given to him and give Chryesis a hundred scared bull for sacrifice to Apollo, In order for the plague to go away, Agamemnon did so but at the same time he has to gain back his honour by taking Achilles price because Achilles is next to him in terms of superiority or in the scale of power but Achilles at the same believe has the right to his prize because he worked very hard in order to gain his prize and also felt that is prize is a sign of glory and honour and without is prize he has lost everything.
