Working incessantly for numerous hours a week, tending to the children, preparing healthy meals, and trying to remain a normal human being often takes a toll on many of us. Vacation time allows us to unwind, have fun, create everlasting memories, and remove ourselves from the stressors of everyday life that tend to exhaust us. Many vacation destinations are home to amusement parks that compete to receive your hard earned cash, but the Walt Disney World resort in Orlando, Florida is the location of the finest theme parks in the world. Walt Disney World is home to Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Epcot and Hollywood Studios that provide high quality attractions, unbelieveable character experiences, signature fine dining, and outstanding cast members …show more content…
The Walt Disney World theme parks are home to your typical “theme park food”, but also table service restaurants and signature fine dining. After enjoying a day of rides with my son, I decided to go to Epcot for dinner. I had made a reservation at a hibatchi restaurant called Teppan Edo in Japan which was a country in the World Showcase. My mouth watered with the sight of seasonal vegetables, wafu ribs, and spicy udon noodles sitting at the table next to us. The light in my sons eyes as the rice slowly formed the outline of Mickey Mouse and the onions began to look like a volcano was enough to get him excited about eating the vegetables which he would never eat at home. The noodles slid from our chopsticks everytime we would try to take a bite and my son would giggle and try again. This experience of hibatchi in an amusement park is one that you could not find at competing amusements parks in which the closest to a table service restaurant you would find at Six Flags is the burger joint Johnny Rockets. The delectable food at the table service restaurants at the Walt Disney World have food that can suit the palette of the pickiest of eaters also known as children. In addition to the table service restaurants, Walt Disney World amusement parks also have signature fine dining establishments. I dined with …show more content…
On the fourth day of my vacation with my son, we visited Animal Kingdom and from the corner of my eye I spotted Mickey Mouse in a safari explorer outfit meeting guests. My son ran as fast as he could and hugged Mickey. Mickey began to walk hand and hand my son to the Tree of Life, which was the hub of the park, and wanted to take photos together in front of it. At first they did a side by side photo, then a hugging shot, and then a “looking out into the distance” photo. This type of interaction with the characters made my son so excited and it is this type of interaction with characters that does not happen at other theme parks in which the closest you will get is a high
Among the many things that individuals enjoy doing with their families, visiting amusement parks is at the top of the list. Sea World is a multi-billion dollar chain of marine animal parks, aquariums, and animal theme parks. (Wikipedia) When people are watching the rehearsed performances that the animals and the trainers do, the animals and the trainers seem to be happy. Witnessing the interaction between the animals and the trainers can remind individuals of the beauty of nature and it serves as entertainment.
Disney World is a magical and fun place for a family of four. The sound of excitement filling the air, kids jumping and dancing around waiting to start their day at Disney. But as we know going to Disney is not as easy as it sounds. You need to budget your way to get to Disney World. Saving and planning is your first priority. How are you going to get there and where are you going to stay when you get down to Florida. Most important of all, well to the kids, the Disney Park, and which ones to go to. Wanting to go to and actually going to Disney World is two different things.
The ticket price range at Disney World is ranged from one hundred to over eight hundred dollars. Shown on the Disney World website, the annual passes are eight hundred, and the daily tickets are one hundred dollars per ticket. The price of tickets are much more expensive for non-residents of Florida. Not to mention, purchasing a plane ticket to Florida can add more to the bill. The food prices at Florida are expensive too. Tuttle, a journalist, mentions, “Food easily costs over $10 per person, per order even at Disney's to-go type restaurants, and sometimes over $50 per person for special meals hosted by characters like Ariel and Winnie the Pooh.” (par.4). Hotels at Disney World cost around one thousand dollars a night. Souvenirs can add an extra thirty dollars. On an empty stomach, Disney world serves unique food. Przygoda, a student at university South Carolina, shows a mouthwatering dessert sold at Disney World, “Kitchen Sink.” (par.2). The Kitchen Sink dessert contains a bowl of ice cream and whip cream with loads of cherries on top. Regardless of the price of the park, Disney World brings smiles to kids all over the world with their live Disney characters, and rides. Disney World holds four parks that total to over fifty rides. Porter, a journalist, shows, “If you are visiting for exactly four days you can hit every park giving each its own designated day.” (par.4). It takes more than two days to enjoy all four parks at Disney world, but perhaps even more. The parks also allows families to take pictures with Disney characters walking around the
Disney offers an array of benefits for employees. For many, simply working within the Disney environment and being surrounded by the positive attitudes of coworkers is a benefit in and of itself. One of the employment perks at Disney is that you can choose a free vacation at any of the Disney parks around the world once a year, in addition to free park admission for up to three guests, and discounts to partnered locations such as hotels and restaurants. Other basic benefits includes medical insurance such as dental and vision, on-site childcare, and paid for sick leaving. In addition, employees are paid weekly so that they don’t need to worry about spending all of their salary at the beginning of each month. But in our opinion, making kids smile is the greatest benefit from working at
"Mom, can we go to Florida" is a common phrase heard when school is out. Deciding where to go and what to see is a very hard decision for cash strapped parents. Picking one park is even harder when they are both five minutes apart from each other. When you want to see top amusement parks, you have a choice of two of the biggest names in the Industry, Disney-MGM or Universal. Both parks offer a different experience, yet they started with the same goal in mind, entertain the guest.
Walt Disney has brought two theme parks to life because of his imagination. He never stopped chasing his dreams, even if they seemed impossible. Walt Disney World came after Disneyland and it is located in Florida. Disney World is known to be the "most magical place on earth" and the place "where dreams come true". Many people haven't been to the park, so they might be skeptical of the "magic" that is held within. Walt Disney World is the "most magical place on earth" because of the rides, characters, shows, the electrical parade, Wishes Nighttime Spectacular, and the infinitely growing attractions.
It became internationally famous, and there were millions of visitors globally, coming to the “Golden State”, to witness the magic. Upon the opening of Disneyland, CA, the WDS decided to move their studios to a newer, bigger building in Burbank, California. New attractions were added regularly to Disneyland, and at least one part of the theme park was always closed for construction. Walt said that Disneyland would never be completed, as long as there was still imagination in the world for the studios to use as inspiration. A couple major attractions added were, the Star Tours, Splash Mountain, The Grand Floridian Beach, the Caribbean Beach Resorts, Typhoon Lagoon, Pleasure Island, and more. About 16 years later, a whole new bigger amusement theme park emerged by the name of Walt Disney World in Walt’s honor; 1971. Disney World was a theme resort in Orlando, Florida, where families could stay for days, and experience the fun attractions. It was bigger and had four main theme parks within its 25,000 acres. The main park is the central part of the park, The Magic Kingdom; 107. It contains a dining area, and a huge castle in the exact middle of the whole Disney World. The castle is lit up in the night, and everyone gathers in the square. Then is the Animal Kingdom, which is 500 acres. It contains all kinds of animals and shows. The second largest park in the Walt Disney World is EPCOT. EPCOT stands for Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow. It is the park that shows international diversity. There are “World Showcases” that ‘showcase’ many different places on our Earth and their cultures. For many years it was considered an “adult” park, for kids found it very boring. The last park is the Hollywood Studios. This park is 135 acres and was the third major park to be opened. Its attractions are based on blockbuster movies and top TV shows. Walt Disney’s characters were the greatest thing ever in
Everything in the parks is done for family, joy, and, of course, magic (Elias 1). Milt Thurman is a Disney fan that has said that Disney “is a nice, safe place to be” and that “it’s not today; it’s not tomorrow, its forever. It’s just a great place (Stein 6).” Whenever somebody walks into the parks, there is always a feeling that is great. The feeling of love, compassion, hope, and belief in the future are the feelings that people get when walking into the parks each time. This feeling comes from the cast members and the park as a whole. As people walk into the parks, the first thing seen is the bright colors, smiling faces of everyone, and also the characters. The whole idea of having fun, being excited, having hope and falling in love is what everyone wants (Stein 3). People instantly fell in love with Disneyland because it took them into a world of fantasy for a chance to relax and become part of the stories associated with their childhood memories of watching the Disney movies (Stein 1). At the same time, the art of family-friendly storytelling remains the core (Stein 2). When Walt was creating and designing Disney, he had many goals he wanted to meet. All he wanted was the greatest creative effort, not the most efficient operation. He also believed that giving people the right motivation was the best and only way to accomplish his dream. Disney had an obsession with the park, and always looked at it
My opinion though is that Universal Studios Orlando is awesome and fun that a lot of people will enjoy. Some information about Universal Studios is that it has a lot of different types of rides. They have different sections of the park with different types of themes like the Harry Potter theme. That is one of its biggest attractions to the park. There is so much to do at the park you can go on rides, eat at restaurants, or just walk around the park
Florida is home to the world's most famous park - Disneyworld. This magical world of Mickey located in Orlando continues to attract the most visitors than any other amusement park in the country. Inside you can amuse yourself and the family with 4 theme parks which consist of Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios and the Animal Kingdom. A treat to these parks is the ultimate answer to every child's dream.
Throughout a day in Animal kingdom, one will have many animal encounters from safari rides to cages full of different animals. The Kilimanjaro Safari is a jeep ride to tour the animals of Africa. The ride offers information about the animals being seen up close and personal. Rafiki’s Planet Watch features a train ride to learn about the environment, conservation, and the animals well being. Animal kingdom has many different areas to teach the importance of certain animals and how they contribute to our environment. This is proven in the animated show, It’s Tough to be a Bug. Areas like Dino Land USA gives the opportunity to learn about different dinosaurs and a chance to play archeologist allowing children to discover different career opportunities. Animal Kingdom’s close look at the animals isn’t the only thing Disney’s parks have to
Everyone who has ever been to Disney World thinks it’s going to be the vacation of a lifetime but when we went it was the vacation from Hell!
For millions, fast food restaurants are the source of positive associations with birthday parties, play dates and accessible comfort food. For others, they represent a lifeline meal on a busy day, or the secret to quieting a cranky toddler on a long trip because hurrying residents of cities have no time to cook a healthy breakfast, lunch and dinner. Fast food presents even in the lives of people who are trying
For example, there are no sightings of skyscrapers, motels, or any kind of city structure, in the Magic Kingdom. Walt Disney’s goal for his first theme park, as well as all of the others, is to not be able to see the nearby city. Walt Disney really wanted to transport guests into a different world. In this world, there are no real world issues occurring and the guests would be safe. The real world is absent, and does not protrude into the traditional family vacation. My father, does not get any calls from work, so this is his time to talk and enjoy quality family time. Family time is very difficult to obtain, due to work and school schedules. Each day we are in and out of the door, and really stay busy until it is time for bed. The solution is the trips to Walt Disney World as these can be seen as aides to create a place to be a family and enjoy one
The story behind the Disney Land and Disney World theme parks is ordinary. But the impact the theme parks have had on America is extraordinary. One day, Walt Disney was sitting on a bench in an amusement park watching his daughters. As he looked around the park, he saw children having fun and laughing, but he also noticed that the adults had nothing to do. They were bored and anxious to go home. Walt Disney also noticed how filthy the park was. He started to dream of what his own theme park would be like. Walt Disney once said, "What this country really needs is an amusement park that families can take their children to. They've gotten so honky tonk with a lot of questionable characters running around, and they're not to safe. They're not well kept. I want to have a place that's as clean as anything could ever be, and all the people in it are first-class citizens, and treated like guests."
